Actually the most concise, to the point guide that's basically a sliver bullet for the "2-4 week Minecraft phase" problem. Since oracle's free accounts are on hold anyone can now upgrade to pay as you go and just cancel after a month. I promise you wont use the $300 in credit you get before that's up. Even better yet, the credit you get means you can rent even better hardware. I got a 4 OCPU 48GB flex3 vm that's running a 400+ modpack server like a dream supporting ~6 people. Props for making this known dude, hosting services are unbelievably expensive for no reason.

This has happened to me a couple of times, my best advice is to try using a different availability domain at the top (1-3) and if that doesn't work to just give it a bit of time and try again.

there are no more available vms in your region so there are 2 solutions either just run a script that keeps trying automatically or upgrade your accountt to pay as you go and that will let you make one withou the error

@@TrulyAverage not sure if you ever got a response, but i fixed this by upgrading my account to PAYG (pay as you go), this does require you to have a payment check of $100 (this is not actually taken from your bank, its just to verify that you can pay) but the server is still free, my request to upgrade took a couple of hours but then i could make it no problems

Some sever runs on different ports such as Poke RPG which runs on port 25566 instead of the usual 25565 so you’ll have to check the server properties and adjust the ports in oracle to match it

Hi, when I load the private key in PuTTY and it opens that terminal, I can't write anything in the terminal and I eventually get a popup saying "Network error: Connection timed out." I don't know if you fixed it but here's how you do it. He forgot to do it in the video, or cut it without meaning to. Before you launch your server, run the command "tmux new -As mc", then paste your server start command line "java -Xmx24G -jar fabric-server-mc.1.19.2-loader.0.14.19-launcher.0.11.2.jar nogui" (or whatever your version is). Then you can close putty. Later on, if you need to shut down your server, simply reattach the session on putty. "tmux attach-session;" Then type "close".

Do you know if stopping, and rerunning the launch command would preserve the existing server world or overwrite it with a fresh new one? I wouldn't want to throw away the progress made by everyone so far.

@@sharpingale7263 If you use the /stop command it'll stop the server and save the world. Edit wise it depends on what you're doing. If you're upgrading versions I advise you to take a backup of your files in that version so you can reupload it in case of corruption or incompatibility.
