Thanks Diggy! Pure luck lol. I think it’s because I built the pile more or less in one go and finely chopped everything with garden shears! Take care mate

Awesome, Mark !! Thermophilic microbes are achieved!! It's got to be at least 140 -155 °F. My piles take about the same amount of time, perfect !! I usually wait until the temp starts dropping and then flip. But some people flip every day and get great material!! 1 tiny thing - those blue pallets are usually chemically treated because the transport material from overseas. Here in Canada, I get ones that have HT(heat treated) stamped on them :) Awesome update, I live compost!! Cheers Brother J&C 🌱🌱🌱

Yeah, this year I finally realised how to get hot compost, layering in one go! Thanks for the info, I covered the pallets with thick black polythene. Cheers guys

I know this video was 7 months ago, but I'm interested that you used brambles. On my lawn is a mass of now dried brambles from a hedge I slashed down. The intense heat of the last few days has really dried them out. I was going to burn them, but can they really be composted? Would using chook poo pellets and comfrey help with the heating?

I am wondering whether or not you are going to get some wine cap mushroom spawn to inoculate all around your plot. You have an ideal plot for mushroom growth and wine caps are the best species to grow. Just an idea!

Sounds like a great idea! I’ll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!

That pile would've been very hot before turning. You lose so much in the turning, takes about 48 hours to heat back up.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I can see it will take a few days.
