I know that I recently uploaded a video about this exact topic, but I felt like I should have included more examples, so I decided to remake it and reupload it with more tips and information included. I hope you enjoy the video! 😊💖

Thanks for mentioning how many chapters you should write before you start up loading! I was wondering about this exact question, and couldn't find any answers any place. This was so helpful.

Having these guidelines is helpful when the hardest thing to do is to just start 😵💫

When I want to start something, I try to avoid feeling overwhelmed by looking at the bigger goal, and instead, try to focus on what I can achieve every day, one step at a time. 😊 Eventually, you'll have created your novel before you know it!

Just do it. Once your in, it’s 5000x easier. Trust me I know starting is overwhelming but just push though that and you’ll feel the weight off and it will motivate you. You won’t want to stop.

Thank you so much for making this video! It's so hard to find info for writing specifically for web novels. This format IS different from a traditional novel. Because it's serialized, the pacing is different, the development of the story is different, and even the character development is different.

Nice video! I write fanfiction rather than web novels personally, but they're both serialised forms of writing. One thing I have noticed from my commenters though is that even though I update every fortnight, readers will sometimes forget details established in previous chapters that I then bring up later. I personally care a lot about keeping what I've published fresh in my mind so that I can maintain continuity, and people who binge/catch up on previous chapters have this issue less, but when someone is following a story update-by-update, I can see why they might forget something that happened in a chapter that was released months or even years ago, and thus be confused when it shows up again. How can I account for that in the chapters I publish? Slipping in recaps seems the obvious solution, but that could become grating for anyone catching up on the story. I also can't necessarily predict which details people would be confused about, since again, it's my job to remember them all. (I used to have a beta but she had to drop out, plus I find using a beta disrupts my workflow and I'm just writing as a hobby anyways.) Since this is a problem that also shows up for any serialised fiction format, I'd love to know your takes on how to handle this issue 💖

I think I can answer this with personal experience, since I have also written a number of fanfictions in the past! It is one of the ways I practised writing, before I started working on my main projects. I would recommend mentioning important details again throughout the chapter, just through the dialogue or events. For example, if a dire battle scene happened a number of chapters ago, the characters might again mention, "I am still injured from that previous battle, so I may need to take more time to rest." You can also do this through descriptions about the world. Using the example about the battle scene, there may be more destruction in the scenery nearby, which can also act as a reminder of what happened in the previous chapters. This method is best used through dialogue or descriptions of the world, and I feel like it seems more natural than providing a recap at the start of the chapter. 😊 It is important however to provide recapped information throughout the chapter, rather than all at once, otherwise the information may feel overwhelming.

Great video. How many drafts, on average, do you do for each chapter? I'm going to look at your other videos on writing soon, but I'm really curious.

I usually write one main draft, but I might go over that draft a few times to edit it. 😊

@bibleman1117 Lmao all delusional takes. Beyonder is possibly the most overrated power system I have ever seen. Its great but extremely over rated. Devil fruit and haki slam. I'm not even gonna give the world building take a single hint of importance, no sane person can say that. One piece characters neg diff lotm, better main cast better side cast better villans. Its not even remotely close. Well Klein and Luffy is my top 3 so I don't mind putting one above other but "much better" is just glazing.
