How do I run Rufus when it's on my computer? I got it on my download folder but it didn't run the option menu with all the settings like yours did. I got the files in the rufus folder but I don't know how to run it. I'm trying to reimage my steam deck and I've already downloaded the Steam software. I am trying to get the reimaging software to my USB stick so I can boot the SD from it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

ty man my games were so laggy then i realised why its cuz i had a older version of windows 10 and then i installed windows 10 with the help of this video and now my games run smoothly without any problems. Tysm man u saved me

Hopefully not a too dumb question, I have a pc that I want to keep windows installed on for running certain software but I plan to never go online with it. It has no wifi which is good, but does of course have ethernet entry. My question,,,, If I boot from a Linux loaded usb and go online through Linux will it include online connection to the windows os? For all I know you cant go online when only using the usb connection..

Hi, So my laptop doesn’t support latest version of windows Its stuck in automatic repair so i thought of reinstalling windows But my laptop requires windows 10 2019 version, even windows 8.1 would’ve worked but but neither of them is available on rufus It only shows latest versions of windows 10 and 11 Any solution ?

I have an old USB with a old version of w10 I made with rufus in 2020, can I just delete the old windows files and copy a new modern w10 files into the stick ?

No you need to recreate it with Rufus like I show in this video. It will be best.

One thing that I don't see people commenting on anymore and that I now have questions about is the "file system" option. A few years ago I saw more people recommend using the NTFS file system (even for GPT partitions). The argument was that the NTFS file system had better security against file corruption and stability. To be honest, I haven't been following the evolution of Rufus, Windows or removable drivers. Have there currently been any changes that imply this system files option? Is Fat32 today better recommended than NTFS or does it matter? Thanks in advance for any helpful responses on the matter. And thanks for the quick video guide too!

I have had some comments about it before, people saying it should be NTFS. Honestly, I don't know, I guess NTFS is better but I just let Rufus decide all that, I haven't had any issues using it like I show in this video.

Delete Rufus completely and download thr standard version. You have the portable version now and you need to delete it as well as the rufus config file.

You need to look for legacy boot in the bios on your laptop and enable that. Also look at Rufus and to MBR for hard drives! NOT SSD FOR GBT

Completely delete all the rufus files on your pc including the config file for rufus. Download it again but choose standard, not portable. Should work then.
