Hey budget fam!!! Today lets chat about zero based budgeting! I've loved different budget methods but this budget by far gives the most accountability in my opinion. I hope you're all having a wonderful Wednesday.

Thank you for bringing up the health and life insurance. I get life insurance outside of an employer. I enjoy when people do mock budgets to help show breakdowns. The budget mom has people submit them and she does them on video. Its crazy to watch

When i first started off I did $0 based budget, but with having to coach hubby first on what that means 😅… then for now I gotta keep a “bigger buffer “. Great video. Have a great day 💖🫶🏻

A lot jobs do offer life insurance but if you have to leave that company you don’t get to keep it. So if you are younger you should get an life insurance outside of that.

Thank you so much for this informative video!! Very useful. I had a question based on this... Can this method still work for someone who don't know how much they will make until the end of the month? My revenues are not consistant at all, so I'm wondering how I can still use this method

Do you suggest (encourage) getting Emegency find 1st before credit cards (similar to Dave Ramsey) or getting 1 mo ahead 1st ? Thx I am new to the channel and after 25 years of us poorly managing money am going to try cash envelopes
@JordanBudgets
@JordanBudgets Жыл бұрын
Hi! Okay, disclaimer first, I'm not a financial advisor or anyone with any background or education on this except for my own personal experience. (So keep that in mind, lol.) But I think getting 1 month ahead while paying towards credit card/debt is what has been most encouraging to me. I find "emergency funds" to be less tangible than 1 month ahead. One month ahead you have a clear end goal, "I need X amount to be ahead a month." Whereas, for me, emergency funds feels like, "omg I could need 1-5k depending on what happens." Which feels more like anxiety to me than it feels encouraging. You can always use your 1 month ahead on an emergency if you absolutely need it. But for me the thing I love most about cash budgeting is the way we can change it to whatever works for us and encourages us the most. For me it's most encouraging to have a definite goal and be able to say, "I'm one month ahead" or "I'm two months ahead". As for credit cards I would work towards paying them off completely or paying them as much as possible while still stashing some cash away to encourage yourself and reward yourself (by seeing the numbers grow) along the way. I hope that helps!
