Pro tip for the SHUFFLE TOOL: You can select multiple items by holding shift or ctrl, just like you would do in Windows Explorer and the like. Helps a lot when you want to litter a place... 🤪

I do that too. I find it's especially useful for foliage and rocks so you don't just have the exact same plant or stone plastered all over the place

@@ShriKenerd If I could have the assets from inkarnate in the UI of dungeondraft, I would be happy. Finding high quality and res assets that allow for commercial use but that don't cost the earth in licensing is hard.

How do you delete the floor of a room? I can delete the walls but I can’t delete the floor. I saw when you tried to delete the room it only deleted the walls, and you tried to select the floor but couldn’t and then cut away and the floor was gone. How did you remove the floor lol

Hold the ALT key and drag to select. It will remove walls and floors in the selected area.

Hold ALT to undo placement of rooms, paths, textures, etc. Can be used on water and caves, too. Wish it was mentioned somewhere better in the program.

This still is not clear to me. I hold ALT and drag to select, and nothing happens at all. Like others, I find no way to get rid of the floor pattern.

This is an even easier/bigger step up from Inkarnate. Question: Is the grid only available in squares, or can I put hexagons? I just like hexagons more than squares. I might have to save my map with no grid and then upload to Inkarnate and add the grid there.

I always found Hexes very odd to use, but to each their own. I don't think there's inbuilt Hex support from the start but since this thing is very modifiable with external assets, you can easily add hex overlays to put over the map. "Hex Grid Overlays for Dungeondraft" by EightBitz seems to be a solid and free asset for these purposes.

its crazy, i'm using dungeondraft for months, but couldnt find out how to enable the greyed out layers. Any tipps?

I don't think you can. I believe the point of those layers is that they're always where the walls, portals or whatever will sit. So they get their own layer that can't have anything else on it.

As much as I appreciate the video, the title is misleading. I get you're playing the algorithm game and definitely hustle, but this is just the most general, basic tutorial and doesn't teach anything about map optimization or tips and tricks to really make maps pop. I think you should just rename this one and then make another one giving us hints on what you do and call that one 'How to create amazing maps'. Also at the very last seconds of the video the audio cuts out. Thanks for making the tutorial though!

This is a really cringe question / obvious advertisement. Alchemist looks awful IMO and some reviews suggest Draft & Inkarnate are superior alternatives. So clearly there's a lot of reasons why you'd prefer to not use Alchemist.
