Your setup is probably better. The main issue is most TVs down have a way to do this and most people don't currently have a receiver. You can still actually do the voice commands by linking your devices together in the settings like I show at the beginning and then you don't need to do the Home Theater part.

I recently purchased two Echo Studio's and a Subwoofer. The audio is nice (i.e., bass, mid range and treble) when playing music from Amazon Music; however, whenever, I play movies, the volume is too low. I can hear the sound all around me; however, I wish it was louder. I feel like I’ve tried everything such as: • While in Home Theater mode, the only audio setting available is Dolby Digital Plus. The PCM and Dolby Digital options are greyed out. • Under Devices of the Alexa app, I selected the Echo Studio and confirmed all three speakers are paired. I increased the volume to the max setting. • Under audio settings on my Fire TV Cube, I toggled both the Volume Leveller and Dialogue Enhancer on and off. • Under audio settings In the Alexa app, I toggled the “spatial audio” on and off. • I restarted my Fire TV Cube (even unplugging it) Have anyone else experienced low volume using the Alexa Home Theater? Is so, any suggestions on how to fix the issue? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Hi: Thank you for the video. I have the 4K Fire Stick but was never able to control the on/off or the volume for the TV. Not sure why because I am able to active with voice. My question is: If I connect the echo the same way you did to the TV, will I still have to use the Remote Control to set the volume. or could I use Echo voice control or even the echo manual volume control? You probably figured it out a year later but in case not: fire tv settings; Equipment control; Manage equipment; TV; Change TV; Click Change TV; Continue; Select your TV; Turn off TV; Wait 10 seconds turn on. Power n volume should work now.

Thank you very much for your video I just purchased the Echo Dot 4 generation and downloaded the new Amazon alexa app but other than the fact the app appearance has been change, the mist important is On Echo section where to chose Speakers there is no AUX option. There is just bluetooth and built in option . I have no Aux so when I connect the external speaker by aux to Echo Dot , the sound of the firetv does not go to external speaker and it just plays on Echo dot but if you select a music frkm amazon music the voice plays through the aux and external speaker. Hi great tutorial. I setup as directed home theatre on my 4k fire stick. My volume coming out my echo Dot 3rd generation is low tho, even when turned upto max. I've looked everywhere to increase it, but no joy. My alexa remote will not sync to my TV DGM model, could this be the issue. I've tried every ir code to sync alexa remote to DGM tv but cannot pair. Is there a way to higher volume on the stick, so it's louder on the echo Dot? Doing my head in, only bought the 4k stick to setup to my dot for my kitchen sound as that's we're I chill and watch the footy. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

After attempting many home Theater setups without this there is always some issue. When using Bluetooth there usually is a audio delay and many TVs dont have the Aux output to plug in a speaker. When linking these devices together Amazon removes the delay issue and as long as you can use a Fire TV on your TV you dont have to trying and figure out If the TV will work.

That is correct, you can't play the audio out of the Apple TV to the Echo Studios. That can only be done from a Fire TV devices. You possibly could plug in the Echo Studios to your TV with a 3.5 mm cable and a splitter. Not sure if that would work though. If it does, the Apple TV will work through them.

Hi Brett, One question. Why do we need to all this round robin connections? Instead we can simply plugin the Aux from TV to your external speakers. This stick doesnt do any magic as long as you connect some speakers which are incapable of supporting dolby atmos. Or am I wrong?

So I just tried doing this with 2 Echo Dot 3. I paired them together as a Stereo pair and then I set up a home theater system and it worked. I just couldn't get them to play any sound on AUX and I didn't fully test if stereo was actually working but that is where I am at.

I have an echo plus and an echo along with the fire tv cube (and a recast). I have the two echoes paired for stereo and I also paired them for home theatre. It works in stereo for anything I play from my cube, including live tv (because of the recast). The stereo pair also works independently, which was my original concern (I use Apple music). A benefit that I wasnt expecting, that I am pleased with, is when I have the echo(s) play music in stereo, I am able to control the music now via the fire tv remote! play/pause/stop/skip/volume. This was one feature I loved with the very first echo (it came with a remote) which is great for me because I have two little kids, I dont have to scream at the echo over. I am enjoying this new set up, it looks really clean and I really wasnt interested in getting a sound bar. hopefully that helps?

There is not. Once Home Theater is enabled it turns off the audio to the TV. So you will need to turn this odd to use Audio group for all devices.
