large footings. shoring up the walls to demo the old load bearing wall. cutting the existing ceiling joists so our beam slide right in.

I love see all your projects nothing but quality work 👌 But I have a question 😕 If I want to do something like this but the opening will be 14' long do you thing I'm going to need footings for that too Thanks again

I’ve seen load bearing posts with only 4” thick concrete footings. I would suggest always digging out a footing, if the posts are going near the outside walls of the house typically there are already footings there.

Beams comes from capital lumber through Home Depot, this beam was a 30’ long by 19.5” tall by 5.5” wide with a 1” camber in the middle and it was over 2400$

What determines glulam vs lvl or multiple lvl? I have a 22ft wall im removing but the beam will stretch 27ft. It will be flush mounted just like this video. Thank you
