OMG you are amazing. This is the best tutorial I have watched, and I have watched a few. Would you recommend the Printer Studio to design digitally? Is there a tutorial on how to use Printer Studio? I'm a layman and have no design training at all but I still want to create my own. Thank you so much for this!

@@russolmt hi there and thanks so much for watching and commenting. I didn't use printer studio because make playing cards was cheaper at the time but it looks like they pretty much use the same technology/program so it's probably very similar. I don't have a tutorial for them but I may make a new one showing how to use Canva instead of Adobe. I used Canva for my last 2 decks and it was easier in my opinion.

@@CapricornMoonGoddess Thank you for your reply. I want to sell commercially and you said Canva does not let us use their templates for this purpose. Am I right? Could you do a video with design software options to use commercially?

@@russolmt you can upload clip art or other photos to canva and design on canva just as you would on adobe. I believe you can use Clipart from canva as long as you use it to create new designs. People that have trouble using Adobe can design on Canva without having to use the Adobe template for sizing, they'd just have to create a document with the proper dimensions of the cards they are wanting to create. I've done this on adobe indesign as well but noticed that once I save the design and upload it online it looks blurry.

You can order them from Make Playing Cards or whichever print service you choose to print your cards and then you can sell them on Amazon, Etsy or your own website. I believe you can sell them on Make Playing Cards' web site as well. Also since you create your own images, you can sell your images on Etsy for people to purchase to use on their projects if you would be ok with that.

You can do it on your phone but I've never tried it that way so I don't know how much easier or harder it is. You'd have to make sure the files on your phone are the right size. If you can open and edit PDFs on your phone you may be able to use their templates on your phone.

These companies are super expensive. How many decks did you buy?

They are expensive and the turn around time is a lot slower now so I'm not happy about that. The answer to your question is, it varies. When I make a new deck I only buy 1 deck so I can make sure it looks how I want it to look and fix any errors before I put the deck for sale. Then I will list the deck on Etsy as Pre-Order for about 4-6 weeks. So people pay ahead for the deck and they know it will take a while to ship. This allows me get the money for the decks ahead of time so I'm not spending my own money. It also allows me to buy more decks at a time so the price per deck is cheaper. I have several decks so I'm usually buying several copies of each deck. The lowest number I will buy if each deck is 6. That's for a deck that doesn't sell as fast. However some of my decks sell faster than others so I order more of those because it's pretty much guaranteed that they will sell fast. When I sell out people message me in Etsy asking me to restock.

I don't believe so but they could have added them since I made this video. Their templates don't always exactly line up once you upload your files anyways so I would get the dimensions of the card size that you want and find a canva template close to that size and use that. If you upload it and it doesn't fit into their online template then you can tweak it until it fits. I have to do this even when I use their template sometimes.

They offer bulk pricing...meaning the cost per deck is lower if you buy in bulk and the offer perks if you qualify for a business account. So essentially if you want wholesale pricing you would need to order a large number of decks at a time. They don't have minimum requirements so you can order as few as 1 deck if you want to, you would just pay more for the deck.

Yes you can. I thought I showed how to add text in Adobe as well but maybe that's in the next video where I show where to get clip art for the cards.

I'm working on a new deck now and I'm adding the text in Adobe...this reminded me of something...sometimes when you add the text in adobe it will cause issues with the image fitting on the template when you upload it...so you may have to play around with the size of the text or the placement of the text on the card to make it fit the template correctly when you upload it.
