How to Create Bootable Windows 11 Installer USB on Mac

In this tutorial guide, I show you how to create a bootable Windows 11 Installer USB on a Mac that's running macOS Ventura, Monterey or Big Sur, without having to install Brew or Wimlib, or use the terminal at all.
The resulting USB flash drive can be used to install Windows 11 on a PC or a compatible Intel-based Mac.

For some fellow M1, M2 users! 1. From UTM VM option, set cores to 8. 2. From UTM VM option, set force multithread to true. This may result a bit of wanky result, but it will be far faster than just doing raw with 2 cpu like some comments suggested. 3. You will see blue screen if you use SPICE. The driver is not signed, so you need to press F8, then select the option to disable driver signature. Then will boot... :)

Thanks this worked, for the one's wondering where to find the VM multithread option - when you are at the last step there is a option open VM setting which you should tick. There you can find the multithread option.

@@JD-sb7mq While following along, on the "Summary" screen, check the box below the "Name" input that says "Open VM Settings". Once you click save, you'll see a pop-up with a sidebar currently on the "Information" tab where you can add notes, or rename the VM. From the sidebar, select "System" and you'll see a checkbox for "Force Multicore" . If you've already created the VM without checking the "Open VM settings" during setup, you can still access the window described above by selecting your VM from the UTM sidebar, then clicking the slider icon in the top-right of the main panel. Then you can choose "System" and toggle the "Force Multicore" checkbox. Cheers!

thank you! Just went through all the steps on my MI mac, very easy! The first attempt was unsuccessful, I got to the step just before selecting the drive in UTM and received a "this pc does not meet the system requirements" error. I deleted the UTM, erased the drive again and started over and created a new UTM. It worked the second time without changing any steps. Took about 30mins to download. I did not enable multithread as suggested by other commenters.

Note: this will NOT work with an external hard drive. It has to be a USB flash drive (mine was 8gb) or UTM will refuse to recognize it and it may even crash your macbook a few times as I found out.

Thanks for the tutorial, it gave me this error after selecting the language and everything after the boot. A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB, or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.

Try the installation again, with the USB drive plugged into a USB 2.0 port (black connector) instead of a USB 3.0 port (blue connector). If that doesn't work, the ISO you downloaded may be corrupt. Try downloading it again and creating a new USB installation drive.

Press Shift+F10 to open Command Prompt and type regedit.exe to launch Registry Editor. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup Right click on the Setup key on the left size and choose New -> Key. Create a key named LabConfig Select the LabConfig key. Create two new values: Choose New -> DWORD (32-bit) and create BypassTPMCheck and BypassSecureBootCheck. Set both values to 1. Close out of Registry Editor and Command Prompt. In setup, press the back button and then Next to continue installation.

just an update, could not get virtual box to recognize my usb 2.0. tried ejecting from host cpu, downloading drivers, extension packs etc. as recommended could not resolve. might just be a me issue but i am doing the UTM method just thought since i had a VM creator already id try it. I am on ventura OS and expect this to work
