@@philadams9254 Big Bad Bass. Can't actually remember if it was on the sleeve or in the liner, but on that record. Reads "WARNING : SAMPLING ORIGINAL BREAKS THAT HAVE BEEN DRUMMED FOR THIS ALBUM WILL RESULT IN LEGAL ACTION" Technically not bitching, but c'mon. You're making dnb for christ's sake.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I was just playing with music for hobby in a free time in Reason, but after getting ableton on my computer I just started to dig deeper and found that is a deep and fantastic world of engineering music out there. Stuff like sidechain, stage gaining and even how to proper use EQ. You, Will Darling (EDM Tips) and Alice Yalcin Efe are my best of the best on youtube. I wish You all the best in live and music business. Cheers and big respect. Btw.

Ofc I really like the simple decent sound of that bass, however It's basicaly still just a one sine. All that filtering and eq just changes volume. It's not changing the character of the sound, because it's one frequency. That makes me thinking the spice can be achieved by little saturation or other type of distortion at the very end on the whole track, or are you leaving it just that clean?
@STRANJAH4 ай бұрын
the filtering definitely does something because it's boosting a harmonic that almost wasn't there before
@fkuchticek4 ай бұрын
@@STRANJAH Really? I wonder where that harmonic came from when you have only 1 oscilator on and that's pure sine, so one and only fundamental harmonic. And don't tell me that first sine in basic shapes wavetable isn't pure sine because then I lived in lie xddd Edit: Just checked it, because I was nervous xd and really It's just pure sine. One pure frequncy.
@fkuchticek4 ай бұрын
@@STRANJAH On another way I now played the part where are you first using the filter with headphones and really there must be another frequencies. Only thing what It can be is the high drive inside of serum? It must be.. Very creative then bro! xddd Maybe not that shocking for you but you know.. I'm the new generration, when I want distortion I use distortion effect inside of serum or some other plugin. I never actually think of using the vst like some analog oldchool machine :D

Why don’t you just teach these techniques with your own productions ??? I’m sure if dillinja wanted to show people how he did this he would do it himself ! I’m all for teaching jungle techniques to the new generation of producers but I just think all these people recreating other peoples tracks is a bit suss !!! And I think jungle and drum n bass had such various original styles back in the day was because people learned on there own and impo is why there is such a lot of derivative styles that don’t meet the standards these days ! Not to say there aren’t good labels ! Some labels doing it legit would be 8205 ‘ deep jungle ‘ future retro and the mighty sci wax who my good friend has released tracks for !!!!
@Adam-g-uk3 ай бұрын
Imo there's nothing wrong with teaching techniques and also if the scene stayed the same from the 90s it would've died out a long time ago, yes the 90s was the best but things have to evolve!!!
@RobertMunro-wb6jb3 ай бұрын
Nothing wrong with teaching techniques but maybe use your own original music and use those techniques there ! And all the modern drum n bass is just less original style of 94-99 !!! All the techniques were pioneered then and still used today ! Impo the few new styles sound very cartoony!!! I do buy modern vinyl releases but they tend to artists that have been around for ages or labels that have the original ethos !!! Take metalheadz they have been around since the start and haven’t changed and neither has dom and Roland or equinox !!! If you like new stuff that’s fine but I can’t think of one modern artist that brings anything new to the table I like ! I prefer new labels like sci wax ‘ 8205 ‘ future retro ‘ deep jungle ! All these labels do it original 94 jungle style and sell out instantly and dj all over the world with the old style !!! Check out Tim reaper off the ropes ! It was released this year but sounds like it could be from 94
@Adam-g-uk3 ай бұрын
@@RobertMunro-wb6jb i know tim reaper and all them you just mentioned, my bro does work for akobeats(which is also a label that has that 90s sound) and i love all them labels you mentioned, just love hearing new takes on rhe genre too, id get bored if it was just the old style redone, ive been into hardcore jungle dnb since 93, i just like hearing fresh producers too, some of the new stuff is made by youngers in their teens or early 20's and it reminds me of when the original pioneers were that age, very creative years for producer's, some of the new stuff is amazing with crazy sound design techniques, i mix it with more classic style jungle and it creates such a mad vibe, as for stranjah and his tutorials, hes made loads of tutorials with his own production, if he just made remakes then id agree with your view but he keeps it variable...
@RobertMunro-wb6jb3 ай бұрын
My friend has put out a couple tunes on sci wax and future retro !! He produces under the name champa b !!! The stuff I wrote is nothing personal I just think if people want to show production techniques they should use their own original material to show the technique !!!! If you have any recommendations of new tunes and artists I will give them a listen and you could change my mind and I could find something I like ! And end up buying vinyl ? No hard feelings I guess we just have slightly different opinions and tastes in music !!!
