Thank you so much for these tutorial and how simple you make it for anyone to understand it. I work in a foster children and I have a form in excell that I send to the region to fill out about the children and any services we provided. Most the time, the don't know if the form is sent to me or not. How to make it simple? so everytime they fill out the form, it will be collected the data of the form in a different worksheet as a table. they only have to check the table to see if they send it to me. Usually in the form we have, date of service, name of service, child name, child case number. one child can have more than one services. Thank you so much.

Excellent video. Thank you. I've subscribed. However your code for the ranges is incorrect in Worksheet_Change(), in that only FoundSubcat is defined as a range, the rest would ve variants? Same applies to the variables dimmed as Long. Surprised it never produced any errors. I made the same mistake when I started using VBA, so surprised that you would do so with all the clever coding you have written?

I'm working on a MacBook Pro and I've encountered a few problems here and there are those you know about? I have Microsoft 2016. Mr. Randy, how do you filter an exact text? I have a problem for example, Adapter and Adapter, Female. When I select Adapter it filters all of the dependent list of it including Adapter, Female. I don't want to use the ="=Adapter" method because it doesn't look nice. Many thanks!!!

Hi Khanh, for an exact match just remove the asterisk (star) on both sides like ="=Adapter" make sure there are no * before or after. I hope this helps. Great info but what i am looking for is a Stock Journal i will explain. if i put in a input of a stock" AAPL" and i sell and buy this stock multiply times it would be great to just Double click the Stock symbol (AAPL) and opens a drop down box with all the trades that were made on this one box, each line having the separate time of such as price bought, sold and profit loss and so on . Fidelity that i use has this, but i have made a custom spread sheet that i made. I can use the filter but would have to have separate interies.

Hi Richard, thanks so much for your comment and I am glad you like the training. For you to have this 'drill down' ability would require two tables, linked by your stock symbol. The first table would be a list of all your stock items with your stock symbol. The 2nd table would be a list of all trades, regardless of stock symbol, yet each trade is linked to a stock symbol. am trying to use this workbook to create a dynamic drop down list with 5 drop down menus instead of 3 as in the video or template. Could anyone tell me what all I need o do. I did link each of the 5 into the row -columns but am not able to sort it or dynamically extract the ubique values based on the input. Can you please help? This table and categories are dynamic so the more categories and sub categories you have, up to 3 levels, those categories will be listed. If you want to add more than 3 levels then just add additional columns and repeat the steps, including the advanced filter in the code. if you enter a value from 1-1000 into the cell Sub Category, it will give a value with a minus sign! if you press the up or down button there will be an error!

I did not run into this issue however you may want to format the cell as Text. If you continue to have this error you may also want to add On Error Resume Next right before the line of code causing the issue. There is no arrow before clik...... only you know if there is and where is a dropdown list.

Hi Duccio, once a user entered the cell the drop down list availability becomes apparent. Users can then use shortcut keys or their mouse to locate records within the list. Thanks very much for your comment.
