Shift + Control only drags the screen for me, is there a hotkey setup that I am missing somewhere?
@SojournerTracks3 жыл бұрын
Are you dragging with the cursor inside of the region?

Yes I am

Weird. Holding shift and ctrl (over empty space) the cursor should change to 4 arrows, if you click and drag the arrangement window will move. Holding shift and ctrl (hovering over an audio region) the cursor should remain the default arrow. If you click and drag inside the audio it should create a fade. If not you could look at “Logic Pro > Key Commands > Edit”. You’ll be able to see what key commands you have set up and change them to whatever you like.

Is there any way to add auto fade in / outs with one shortcut as in Pro Tools?
@SojournerTracks3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if one but you can create your own shortcuts from the Logic menu.

Sounds like you’re talking about a software instrument? Check out 6:45 of the video, I show how to do a fade using automation tools!

So, when I try this... It doesn't work for me. It only selects a section, but won't apply the fade. I am trying to apply fades to multiple tracks at the same time after having edited them. It seems when I turn on one setting, I lose a feature somewhere along the way. For example, right now I am having a heck of a time trying to comp my multiple takes on vocal tracks. I was able to do that earlier until I turned on a setting suggested in a KZbin video about getting the fade feature. Now I can't comp my vocals and I STILL can't fade... Help, please?

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. That does sound frustrating! Without seeing your screen it’s hard for me to guess exactly what’s happening. Are your advanced tools enabled? (Logic Pro X > preferences > advanced tools). Are you using shift > ctrl > drag to batch edit or are you selecting the tracks and using the region editor? (Top left screen). Are you having trouble with in/out fades or crossfades or both? Another thing to check is the “drag” option on the top right set to “x-fade” if you’re overlapping any audio files. I’m not sure about the comp track problem. You aren’t able to click and drag the takes inside of the folder anymore?

Another thing that could be causing some confusion is your mouse tools in the top middle. There is a mouse fade tool but this video explains how to use fades with the mouse tools in default mode “pointer” and “marquee”
