How to Create Mailing Labels in Google Docs

This video will show you how to create mailing labels in Google Docs in a similar way to how you would create mailing labels in Microsoft Word. Since this is not a built-in feature of Google Docs, creating mailing labels in Google Docs requires the use of an add-on by Avery.

They're going to start charging for this I believe (you get a few merges for free, if I understood correctly). It wasn't exactly the same as the instructions in the video but it was still helpful. I was able to do what I needed to do and it worked just fine. Thanks!

UPDATE: Avery Add-on is no longer available. Now you need to create your labels at Avery and access your Google Drive to merge. The finished document is saved as a PDF you can then print. www.avery.com/software/partners/google-drive

I just searched for the Avery tool in the add-ons and it is still there. Can you please explain how you are trying to access the add-ons?

While the add-on was available for me when I first responded, it is no longer there. Avery appears to have discontinued the add-on and you will need to use their service. There are other label plugins, but they are not free. www.avery.com/software/partners/google-drive I tried to use the template they offered, but it says that I am denied access. (The sharing settings aren't on for me to open it.) I'm going to give it a week or so to see if anything changes.

If you're talking about the "Mail Merge for Avery Labels" plugins that is $30/yr, it looks like it is from a developer not associated with Avery or Google. I believe there is a process on Avery's website that will allow you to use labels . It now looks like you will need to use Avery's service on its website in order to link it with Google's productivity apps. www.avery.com/software/partners/google-drive
