How to create old metals with V-Ray - Steel

I recorded this tutorial a few months back, but I never posted it and instead recorded the different parts and posted various smaller videos.
But this is the original one, where I cover how to create these different metals and I thought it would be of interest and would show useful tips and tricks.
I show how to create various steels with this tutorial including brushed steel, old worn steel, black steel and others.
I hope it's of use.

Is it possible to get a look at your render settings? I really love how these materials look in your final product but mine are still coming out looking different. I wonder if its how I have my render settings set up. Thanks in advance! D

Hi, yeah, I've been wanting to do this as there are different approaches you could take depending on if you start with a photo of an aged wall or if you are layering on each of the different elements of decay.

Hi Kashif, I'm not really sure what you mean. I'm sure that in the video I use Reflective Glossiness as one of the parameters and show how to change it. Highlight glossiness is just above it or next to it. It should be clear to see.

@@kashifabdulqayyum5846 Okay, well I'm glad you sorted it out. I have V-Ray Next now, yes it seems Hgloissiness is no longer an option. I imagine they got rid of it because it wasn't realistic anyway, it just faked it. Personally I never used Hglossiness although I did see its use with speeding up animations and reducing flicker. If you just use glossiness the way I did you'll be fine. Then also play around with the new Metalness parameter to add some extra realness.
