What a thrilling surprise to find your exciting channel and this is the first video I've seen and can't wait to see more. This piece is extraordinaire and the steps it took to achieve this very convincing old rustic look are inspiring, the many layered steps and subtle blendings to bring about such a lovely and authenic look are amazing. I will refer to your technique when I start a project of my own. Thank you for sharing and you have a new fan!

This is just the look, I've been searching for. I have a kitchen island that I want to paint in this style. Looks like I'll be watching this video a bunch of times. I have a small end table that I plan on practicing your techniques on first - wow, so many layers, just beautiful.

Just watched AGAIN and I have to say, I must not have seen the way you created the top the last time I watched, but it's a beautiful and interesting technique that definitely created the perfect compliment to the rest of the piece! As always, LOVELY WORK!!!!

Love the end result here! So rustic and authentically aged looking. I also really love your color choices. Adding the bit of Aubusson Blue really gave the piece extra depth and interest. Beautiful work!

thank you for this informative video! great job. I understand that this technique works well with the types of furniture that have frames etc. where the glaze stays after wiping, but what if I need to glase a simple painted stool that doesn't have those? Its very basic stool, just legs and the top, and I wonder what stays and where when I cover it with the glaze and wipe afterwards. I painted it in nice yellow, but wanted to add some used antique look with dark edges and some dark patina around the joints. But the issue is that using your technique the glaze at the edges, where I do want it to stay, will most probaly get wiped off. What do you think I shall do to make it look like a want? And would the whole thing work if I use watered down dark acrylic paint over the main layer of paint, also acrylic? thank you!

I work only with the chalk paint. i don't know if the acrylic is that durable. With flat surface I would do paint wash and pick it with the sponge or wet piece of cloth using dabbing technique.
