Thanks for the quick tut. I can also see using it for seascapes along with noise and create order for large waves and let the noise do the medium and smaller waves. Really nice addition to blender.

That's a Great idea, Yes it's a very useful texture!

u can bake the displacement texture and use it with a displacement modifier. it's not gonna have the same quality but at least there's a way to use it
@chuckcg8 күн бұрын
It doesn't look good, If you want real Geometry, using Geometry Nodes Is a better way, but of course you can use the method you prefer

Great video I was wondering if there there is like a way to add procedural vegetation like trees, bushes, etc on top off the all ready existing procedural terrain?
@chuckcgАй бұрын
We have to do it manually, maybe use geometry nodes but using another mesh, and just place it where you want, or using landscape addon and create real geometry kzbin.info/www/bejne/fICwnqmppaiWh80

Please tell me how to add particles (hair) to such a surface taking into account the deformation of the surface.
@chuckcgАй бұрын
What I did was, in a different mesh added the particles and place it in the scene, I added trees but using geometry nodes.

Of course you can convert a material displacement into real geometry. Just render as a displacement map. Then add a displace modifier to your object and plug in the map you rendered. Then apply the modifier and you will have a mesh.
@chuckcgАй бұрын
Interesting!, it can be a solution, I have to try, thanks.
@ZeroDeanАй бұрын
@@chuckcgIf my instructions are not clear, there are KZbin tutorials for it. Example: "Turn MATERIAL DISPLACEMENT into an OBJECT in Blender!" is one

Carlos, estupendo como siempre! Muy afortunado de tener profesores tan buenos como tú!! Una pregunta: cambiaría mucho poner el Cycles en "supported" en lugar de "experimental"? ¿En qué se notaría? Un saludo
@chuckcgАй бұрын
Gracias, si no se usa expermental no funcionaria con cycles, sin embargo ya se puede usar Eevee tambien, kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJPRdmZofsSIirM

Hello! Do you know how to turn on the extra add-ons for 4.3? I can't find it.
@chuckcgАй бұрын
If you can't find an addon, go to preferences/Get extensions, download it first, then enable it in addons.

You never mentioned to subdivide the plane. When i check on Displacement and Bump, nothing was happening to my plane. I had to go back and subdivide the plane under edit mode.
@chuckcg19 күн бұрын
You don't need to subdivide with cycles adaptive subdivision, if you use Eevee yes you need to subdivide it, but in this tutorial I use cycles
@s.patterson569818 күн бұрын
@chuckcg It's weird because I had Cycles checked. I know at one point I didn't have the Experimental selected, so I am not sure if that could have contributed. Thanks for the reply.
