Thanks for sharing your tips, the wax paper tip on the glue jar, I will be trying . Your covers are beautiful. You can also use paper sacks, I use the ones Walmart has in the freezer section to put your cold stuff in until you get home or have a bit of light stuff packed in paper sacks at the store. It's a little bit thicker paper but it's free and environmentally helpful. : ) God Bless.

Lottie Faith Thanks, Lottie! Great tip about the Walmart sacks! The craft store where I got the sacks is now closed. 😢. So I needed a new source! Thank you! ❤️

Hello miss Have you do brown paint?
@gardengate13396 жыл бұрын
At our Wal-Mart in Louisiana, they have a roll of masking paper in the paint dept. that is just like the paper your sack is made of. I think I paid about $4 for the roll. It works great.
@LisaGonzales16548 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm going to try it tomorrow with the kraft paper that Amazon uses in its packages. I do have a question about the mod podge layers. Did you say to use it to attach the kraft paper to the envelope, then both before and after applying the antiquing medium?
@gayleagostinelli_ct8 жыл бұрын
Lisa Gonzales great question! I did use Mod Podge to adhere the Kraft paper to the envelope. Then you have two options: 1) Mod Podge over the top then stain (if I do this, I don't Mod Podge over the stain. JUst let the stain dry.) or 2). Stain first then then Mod Podge. (I did this with the Glimmer Mod Podge cover). I prefer number one because you use a lot less stain. Hope that helps clarify. Let me know if it doesn't!! Thanks for watching! ❤️

Oh by the way is that a pile of coffee stained glassine bags in the background? Would you mind letting me know how you dry them, is it in the oven or air dried?
@michelleraley15687 жыл бұрын
Hi Gayle ~ you've given me so many ideas with your video. What size is the paper bag that you use to crumple for the cover, and do you by chance have a name brand for it? Thanks!!
@gayleagostinelli_ct7 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle! The bag was a big one. I'm sorry I don't know much about it other than it was Kraft paper. So any Kraft paper will do. Recently I bought some masking paper in the paint section atHome Depot. It is like a lightweight Kraft paper. It's super cheap and will work great for covers like these. I've used a black paper...worked great and tissue paper works great with this technique as well. If you can crumple it and straighten it out, it will work. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching! ❤️
@michelleraley15687 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Gayle. Another question: Do you ever apply some sort of clear finish to "set" your acrylic covers?
@gayleagostinelli_ct7 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle! I just put a coat of matte Mod Podge over the top. Seals it just great. For a softer almost fabric feel, I use Golden Matte Medium. The cover itself dictates which medium I use. I hope that helps, Michelle! Happy creating! ❤️

Could I use parchment paper instead of craft paper or tissue paper???
@gayleagostinelli_ct6 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure, Lori. I’ve not tried parchment paper. Maybe you could try a bit on a tag as see what happens? Let me know! 😘❤️
@PinkSwan1465 жыл бұрын
Lorie Duff I do book folding and all I did was mode podge the book cover and put brown tissue paper ( recycled from gifts :0) ) on it leaving and forming the creases ( it slides easily around because it’s wet) and any little tear you add a small torn piece by dabbing it with modge podge to cover it ... you can add pieces here and there and it darkens giving it depth. Let it dry and give it another go with modge podge . No painting required and it looks amazing and it hardens beautifully .... I wish I could post a pic.
