This is great. I've been looking for ways to do journal covers that look like leather. One thing that I did find that was sort of cool, was here in the states, florists will pack this material around the vase when they are delivering flowers. It' waxy on one side and when you crinkle it up, it looks leather like, also. Thanks for the idea!

Heavy brown paper works just as well too. And if you don't have glycerine, then hair conditioner in about the same quantity as she said works very well too as it has glycerine in it. And it smells nice too. If you are making something that might be handled like a journal cover then a coat of ModPodge is good too after the paper has dried.

Does anyone know what material she's talking about when she refers to the card? Here in the States, it kind of looks like construction paper. Anyone have an Amazon link to buy what she's using?

My faux has a sticky feel to it. How would I remove this from my faux book cover? I love this process. But don’t know why the tacky feel.
