A lot of people just pass through a tutorial and do not explain. Most people assume you know something and you end up confused before you even start. You don't do this. You are an excellent teacher. I've learned quite a few new tricks today. Thank you.

I'm so glad to hear that it was clear. It takes a long time to prepare a video like this to make sure it makes sense and easy to follow.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I see artists using grain effects in procreate and i love those effects in Illustrations. Now i knew that i can also use this effect on Adobe Illustrator. I am going to use this effect on my Illustrations too.

Thanks for these tutorials. Nice If to see quicker, neater ways of doing this. Been dicking around with textured channels for years which is a slow process adding to file size. Just to add to this, if you're looking for more control on the grain itself, you can use grain brushes on strokes nested inside your objects, using the ""draw inside" feature.

This was an amazing video. In the end, all the textures were in a separate layer and it was turned off to see the before and after view. But while creating the textures for each shape all the textures were in the same layer (as a result of Ctrl+c Ctrl+F ). My question is if the only way to move the textures to a new layer is to go through the layers panel selecting all the textures and then move them to a new layer or is there a better way to do so.

Hi, thank you, great tech, i am big fan of your lessons. I do have a question in your drawings the grain is bigger, all mijn texturing i get a small grain, image size maybe?
@YesImaDesigner4 жыл бұрын
Reed Wake yes, image size can effect the size of grain. Also worth checking the resolution under Raster Effects Settings.
@reedwake15524 жыл бұрын
@@YesImaDesigner thank you.I enjoy all your video tutor and, i appreciate you take the time to respond. i use 2920/2080 px and 300 res, but stil my grain is small.
@YesImaDesigner4 жыл бұрын
Reed Wake Have you tried reducing the image size? I believe either by lowering the resolution or the image size, the grain size will increase. You can always expand the grain effect, image trace it and increase the resolution and size when finalising the artwork. Hope this method will work, let me know if you need more help and share if you find a better way to fix the grain size issue.
@reedwake15524 жыл бұрын
@@YesImaDesigner Hi, yes i have try in different sizes 1000/1000/72~600/600/72~100/100/72 and the results are interesting and have indeed influence the grain, thank you you -me BIG FAN!!!!

What if you wish to have a sunlight gradient on say the left half of the vertical body of the cactus. Is there something additional that you could layer on top?
@YesImaDesigner4 жыл бұрын
Good question! The easiest would be to use a gradient fill on the object used for the texture. You can set it up in the direction you want and adjust the spread to align with the shape of the object. This way the texture would transition from highlights to shadows.
@muldoon674 жыл бұрын
@@YesImaDesigner Would this work along with the example in the video? So 2 layers of texture (is it OK to have multiple layers of texture on top of each other). I would imagine one for the stroke to give the 3Dish shadow/shape (darkish green) and then another for the sunlight direction perhaps a yellowish orange. Make sense?
@minimaltech-demo4 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could set up action on the selected object to speed it up even more

Excellent tuition. Although, you must review your camera setup; sometimes it’s like standing on the moon & using a telescope to see your desktop. It’s all there but you end up squinting to see the toolbars & follow your click-through actions. Try for an increased visual setup/desktop & careful with your framing & focus. Thanks...

I don't have the option for gradient mesh; it is grayed out. Is this because my shape is a compound path?
@amankowiczable3 жыл бұрын
These instructions don't seem to work for me. nothing happens after I apply the gradient. do you have to click release mask they are not injured the steps you mention. This applies to parts one and two.
