You know what?! Youre so right about the life span! You literally cracked the code. I always stop my sims from aging, but a while back i created this Grandma and her granddaughter in Mt. Komorebi with a cat and a dog. They had a cute farmer rural life and baby i had things to do. We had to get that girl an education and take care of everything else on top of that. When she became a young adult, grandma passed it got crazier. Rip grandma 🙏

Another reason Get Together is THE BESTT is u can use clubs as like ‘classes’ because the skill boosts you can unlock with club points plus the mentor feature - if u have a max-level skill sim in the club ur sim can attend a ‘class’ aka the club and get their skills up like super fast 💪💪

The Goth-Landgraab union made my jaw DROP. Also, coming up with a story to explain whatever the game did without your input is one of the best things ever. Right now I have a marriage that I don't know where it came from, but for now this guy, Yuusuke, managed to convince his husband, Kyle, that Kailani is just spoiled and is throwing a tantrum because Kyle got married again, especially with a man. So Kyle has been VERY strict with Kailani for no good reason at all and even threatened to kick her out. Kailani is still a teen, mind you! But Kyle really wants to make his new marriage work.

I have an almost opposite play style and am still having fun playing. 😅 While I really enjoy watching yt videos of people playing sims and it being chaotic and messy, when I play myself I need to have everything completely under my control. 🙈 I always have only one Sim per safe file I play with and autonomy off and long lifespan and just focus on doing as many aspirations as possible and maxing skills and doing well in careers. 😅 🙈 Also always playing in micro homes for all those nice bonuses. I started out as someone just interested in building houses, so maybe that's why my gameplay is so tame, I'm just at the beginning to really get into actually playing. 🙈 But I also played very orderly and tame with my dolls as a kid. Just a little perfectionist, I guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love hearing how the Goths and other townies get around in different saves lmao. In mine, my og vamp sim had a son with vlad (who later killed vlad), a daughter with mortimer, a son with J, and two daughters with Caleb Vatore. The son she had with vlad went on to have a son and daughter with Bella and a son with the snooki girl from the party house, which he kidnapped so Bella could raise him with his siblings. Messy messy messy lol. Despite how awful my sims are I am way too attached to them to kill any of them so now I’ve got a ridiculous amount of vampires in one save. Finding humans to eat in forgotten hollow is basically impossible at this point💀

Bro I had a crazy save file one time and I didn’t even do anything. I made a house and two sims who were dating and they had a dog. I tried loading them into the house but they just weren’t making enough money to keep up with the house or buy furniture so I moved them into an apartment. The girl became best friends with their neighbor Penny Pizzazz. They were inseparable and had the sweetest friendship… until she started flirting with her boyfriend! And get this- he started flirting back, right in front of his girlfriend! I legit couldn’t get them to stop so I was like ok they’ve chosen their own path. I moved her out so she could focus on her acting career, but her ex kept their dog so she was lonely. She adopted two dogs who were brother and sister and became friends with her neighbor across the street, Venessa Jeong, they began pursuing their careers in acting together and supporting each other and later they began dating and then got married

This is great advice, I usually play my own sims. I find pretty ones in the gallery. I are playing with townies but mostly to tune them to my lore. With for rent I finally have a reason to play the landgrabbs. Don’t be afraid to start new save files, one of them will stick and sometimes you play both. You can have a chaotic save and a perfect save. It’s a sandbox so really mold the game to your play style

Personally, I play with the lifespan on long, partially so that I can jump over to other households briefly, and not really miss anything. But you definitely have to have imagination when it comes to playing The Sims! Some crazy stuff can happen in the game if you just let it. For example, one of my Sims had a friend (generated from the game) move in with her, and that friend already had a whole family tree going on, which I think is really cool. (That friend also ended up getting pregnant from her step-father (who wasn't her step father anymore because her mom had died but still???) and I didn't even realize until she kept getting morning sickness. Another important thing is to make interesting Sims!! If you give a Sim traits like "Outgoing, Cheerful, and Creative", chances are they aren't going to be doing much on their own. I try to give all of my Sims at least one "bad" trait, like non-committal, materialistic, hot-headed, etc., so that they autonomously start stuff that can give me ideas of stories I can play.

Some unsolicited advice from me: i enjoy my save file a lot, there’s a lot of stuff going on, but it’s not quite dramatic to this degree, so if you’re looking for something fun but not too crazy, here’s what I do: I actually turn my sim lifespan to long lifespan. I know a lot of people will turn aging off for sims they’re not playing with at the moment, but I don’t really like that because I don’t want to be playing with one family and they age up and another family is now a different age to them and it just messes everything up for me. I solve the problem by making my sims’ lifespan long so that I have time to switch between households without them aging up (I play each for a week at a time). I also keep track of my sims’ birthdays so I never miss them and I can plan birthday parties and choose traits and pick outfits. Everything she’s saying about keeping autonomy and all the random stuff on I fully agree with; it gives you a jumping off point (because sims are just absolute maniacs). If you want mods, get mods that let your sims do stuff autonomously, autonomous flirting, autonomous woohooing, all that stuff. But the autonomy alone isn’t enough, you have to kind of infer your sims’ actions yourself. I love reading the little image bubbles above their head and trying to work out what they must be saying, it’s so fun. I’ve gotten a few crazy gems because of it. Also stuff like looking at the first 10 or so options of the chat menu and pretending that those are the things that are on your sim’s mind, like those are the things they most want to say. The random wants are occasional gems too, especially when it tells you your sim wants to flirt with someone or make enemies with someone. That’s what I do to make my save fun. For reference, I didn’t have any packs until recently and I don’t really have any game changing CC, mostly just CAS stuff and some mods that improve on some existing stuff.

I feel like I need more explanation for why city living is so important, because of it's just to fast track a relationship, I just put thebbase gamenhot tub in the park with an outdoor speaker playing romance music and tons of decor and that's enough to get engaged after one date even if they're both tires. (For an extra boost they can make romance tea) If you want low key mods, I like lumpinou's offering, they have things like fixing milestones, and they have a romance overhaul like wonderful whims, but you can choose the parts you want to install, saving menu clutter, and your computer. (Takes a bit to decide which mods you like though) So, I have one for jealousy, open relationships, romance styles, etc. all of their mods together are too much (I don't want pregnancy extras or ovulation) but I got really tired of every sim reacting exactly the same to a flirtatious comment and they saved my stories.

City living brings apartments to the game which I like, it also adds some cool careers like fashion stylist, and social media influencer. Sims can earn money by streaming video games which is pretty neat. And the festivals!!! The Romance festival is one of many, including humor and hijinks, flea market, and geek con. It’s a good activity for your sims and a great way to meet ppl in game. I like the build options it comes with too.

I've just come across your channel, thanks for the tips! I've had Sims 4 since release, been playing the franchise since first gen, although I was very young for that one and I'm pretty sure most of my sims died instantly lmao. When Sims 4 came out, I was obsessed and sunk so many hours into it. Nowa days, I'll spend hours creating a household and thinking up what kind of path I want them to take, and then I get into the actual game play and get bored in 20 mins :/ I'll give your settings a try though, think I need to be a bit more open minded with my play style as it's getting a bit stale. I just wanted to add though, why have you not got more subscribers?! I was shocked to see 15k views but only 720 subs, you're so funny and you have such a good flow when you speak. Not like me, I stutter and trip over my own words haha Keep it up though, I can see this channel getting really popular :)

The whole Sims4 franchise is designed to be played on a normal lifespan for slow play and short play for challenge. I seriously think they only included a long lifespan to pacify legacy players but the gameplay doesn't scale up to this length. Real talk on rotating through households in the same save file because every new pack and then I am done. Turning off age settings means you would have to turn off allowed to have kids and adopt for a while - maybe turn it on like one week a year

I made Bella Goth disappear in my game and Travis also turned out to be the culprit! Though he was actually Eric Lewis' minion. Both were making some kind of Sims Road website and Bella was trying to catch them, so they had to get rid of her.

I tend to play my simself in my saves. I run mods, don't age up any sims. Lifespan? Pfft. They live until something happens. I'm trying to get my guy to be well-rounded. I was the happiest I could be. That is, until my main save file I was using for almost a couple years had strange stuff happening that I never could fix. There were nearly 3k sims at that point (because Maxis never has the option to keep new ones from spawning, there's only a cull option, which I do NOT want to use), and I still haven't put everyone I found online in it. I tend to like a lot of my sims, so I can't part with them. It was hard to let go of all that work and have the save file itself literally get corrupted. Anyway, with that fiasco, I started with a new save with a different sim, but it wasn't doing much for me. I went back to my simself, in another save. This time it's one from a file that has the lots scrubbed from the game. So, literally starting from scratch here. The only things that can't be wiped in the game are some of the structures like the mansion in Windenburg, and certain NPC sims are hard coded. I don't know if down the road that's gonna happen again, but I've learned some lessons along the way should I encounter it. Even if I have to start over, again. At least my sim would've progressed more than the last time. I'm prepared for that.
