both my brother and step father have been in local bands and you're on the right track with it! my brothers band had an "ep" more or less of songs they'd performed at local venues and my step father plays covers at bars and parties! (so i'd definitely say add a bar lot type for them for players to perform at) it could even be a dingy bar only elderly people frequent but it's the only gig the band get find. just some ideas cause this save is so creative!

I actually started taking notes of lore suggestions for these three while i was building an experiment/practice build lol. I guess i really love your save file and characters! Anyways here's the ideas i had: 1. Harlow having a gf that she's in an open relationship with, but she hasn't told Laurie or Bertie (maybe just Laurie tho and Bertie knows and isn't telling Laurie). Especially adds some drama if you do follow through with having Harlow and Laurie being friends with benefits. 2. Harlo being the daughter (maybe step-daughter or foster/adopted daughter) of one of the rich families in Willow Creek, but maybe she doesn't have the greatest relationship with them which is why she's in a punk band. 3. Instead of Harlow being the daughter of one of the rich families, maybe she's an orphan that was taken care by Bertie's and Laurie's families? Or maybe she had a small family and most of them were old and have since past so now her few remaining family members are all scattered in different worlds? 4. Bertie having a secret crush on Laurie since childhood, but having never said anything about it because he knows Laurie is straight and still has feelings for Harlow. OR instead of that Bertie being aroace. These are the main/big ones i had! I'm really inspired to make a save file, but i think i'll wait til i get a pc setup cause my little old laptop can't handle that rn lmao Also, i love how you make your videos and just yap. I hope you don't ever change it for the sake of us cause i think its much more important to build a community that watches your videos for you rather than building a huge following by doing mainstream "normal" things:)

i absolutely adore this comment so much!!!! thank you for leaving such a thorough reply with so many ideas!!! i love the concept of her having a gf that laurie doesn’t know about.. absolutely going to do that. i think i like the idea of Bertie knowing and just not saying anything. i’m unsure how i’ll set up that piece of lore in the game- i think there’s a way for it to show in the relationship panel but outside that i wonder if there’s other hints i could leave. i like the idea of harlow being a step daughter of a richer family! i think i’ll have her be a step daughter of the oldest rich family in the town. but maybe she still lives on her own/seperate from the main household? it could be fun drama if she rents from the landry’s and so there’s Big family drama there considering her step family would then have a rivalry with them. maybe instead of living soley alone she has a sister or something :) i love the idea of Bertie being aroace and i’m defintely going to implement that too. and i hope you can make a save file soon!! you have such great ideas that would be excellent for stories in one!! ❤️❤️ & thank you!! you are so right and i know that, i’ll try to not get in my head about videos. :)

@@silleepigeon Yeah, i think setting it up with the relationship panel is a good start, Bertie being an acquaintance/friend with Harlow's gf whereas Laurie doesn't know her at all. Maybe there could be a picture of Harlow and her gf that Bertie has at his house in a storage box? I don’t think you can really show why its there, but you can at least have it in mind when putting it there that she left it there by accident or Bertie took the picture for them and forgot to give it to them. Maybe when naming the picture you could put "(Note: Give to Harlow)" at the end of the name to get that across. I like the idea that maybe she’s the step daughter from a previous marriage and she’s the oldest child. But i feel like she’s kinda young for that? Also thank you! You’re so sweet:) Your lore is already so thorough and interesting, I'm just glad i could give some ideas. 💗

you can delete and add milestones with ui cheats if that ever becomes an issue btw! you can even select the specific lots and sims associated with them! idk if the gameplay associated with them works but i did it when my sim’s birth milestone glitched and it fixed it also i love the yapping, do what u wanna do

Thank you for this comment, I completely missed that the ui cheats allow you to change existing milestone info for what they unlocked with. That is so much easier than trying to set that up through real gameplay if you just want to skip it (or as you said if the game glitches it out).

The jacket on Harlow's party wear really completes that outfit. And that right there is exactly why playing this game without cc is so hard. Making my own save file too, and I'm hoping to make it one I eventually feel confident sharing publicly, but to do that I don't want to use cc personally so it can be a little more user friendly to everyone. But then of course mods are going to be integral to making the save function the way I want it to. All this to say, you're already using some cc in the builds so I don't see any reason to not use some CAS cc too. I see a few saves where people shared a cc version and a non-cc version. So try not to limit yourself if it makes you happier to use the cc. Past relationship couple photos that one Sim holds onto is such good hidden lore, I love that idea! Referencing lyrics for in-game song titles is also great, I don't know why I hadn't thought of that yet. I do plan to have some of my Sims be prolific writers so the libraries are full of their works, and I plan to use a lot of poetry lines for the titles. So lyrics for song titles just makes sense. ("it sure is a song" gods I feel that. Having to look up terms to remind yourself if it applies just so you can use it in a description is so real omg) I've been playing the Sims since the first game and I'm still learning so much about this game from your videos. I had no idea your Sims could look inside other household's storage boxes and items can be kept inside like the keepsake boxes. I hope you're not feeling too pressured while making this save and sharing your process with us. I know it's a lot of work, and I think I've said it before but it really is so special to see this process and the save come to life. The rambles are part of what sets your channel apart and makes it feel so cozy. I wish more people would stop editing out all of their pauses in videos tbh, sometimes the slower pace is better and it's more real.

I hope you see this, I just stumbled on your videos like an hour ago and I’ve been binging them. Just a tip for Photos I like to use the RVSN full control camera. I think it’s a lot easier than the cameras that come with the game. All the photos are excellent quality so you don’t have to cheat the photography skill and you don’t need someone to work the camera plus you can move it up and down using move objects or the tool mod as much as you want.

I'm listening to this video while I cc shop to build lore for my save file 😂. It's going to be a factory town that was founded in the 1890s, but the main plot is set in the 1930s/40s and it has some drama (think family drama a la Rosemary Kennedy and that entire mess)

I love the way you make lore it’s so entertaining and btw I like the fact you talk us through it and I don’t think your talking too much! I’m so exited to see what happens in this save and I love the lore of how Laurie and Harlow used to be in a relationship, but I don’t think Harlow should get involved with Bertie as I feel like it’s stereotypical of her to be in a love triangle with the band because it’s been done a lot, but I love harlow’s character so far! Girl… ur complaint abt the tattoo colors… so real. Black brows and tattoos do NOT show well on darker sims and tend to be blue unfortunately so I totally get u.

Related to same face syndrome. I think we all have it and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just human to have preferences. If you want feedback I love how your sims look. They have a nice cartoony kinda vibe. I think you lean towards thinner faces with wide set eyes but they all look great and there’s good variety.

omg thank you!! i def got a loooong wats to go to finish it but i’m hoping to continue making good progress. and my tips for creating lore- i usually get inspired by media and especially by real life. i take the types of people or relationship dynamics i see in real life or media and i change the context and combine them to make them go in my save. taking inspiration for other sources than JUST your brain is key. usually that’s a starting place and then ideas can kind of spin out of control from there hopefully!! :)

OK I love the idea of Laurie and Bertie being childhood besties with interest in music who are now in bit of crisis in their relationship with eachother. I see Bertie as someone who is really interested and active in the politics and to be someone who wants to maybe channel his beliefs in their music. Laurie is a cis-het white dude and he doesn't see as much of the discrimination as his best friend does, so politics isn't that important to him (he still has some leftist and antifa values but not as strongly as his bandmates). He seems more like a guy who just likes to make good music in a band with a girl he is still in love with but can never fully get back with. Harlow would have definitely moved on from the relationship despite being friends with benefits. I think she could have an open relationship with a girl (maybe from another town? and hasn't told Laurie)

if you have ideas i would be open to hearing them for my save file!! but i can’t guarantee i’ll include it. i think i would find somewhere to include *most* things since TS4 is so big and has so many worlds and therefore so many sims / stories. i can only really see myself not doing something if i find it offensive or if it’s about a specific sim and i’m attached to a particular storyline for that sim!! if you mean like outside the save i’m not sure what you mean- like make a sim with a story for upload? i could see myself doing that too!

I haven’t finished the video so you might have figured it out but sometimes the game randomises the sexuality stuff actually in CAS when you first make the sim so unless you go in and change it you don’t know that it made Laurie aromantic. Just an idea as to what might have caused it

thank you!! i thought that that was what was happening- that it was game generated- but i couldn’t figure out how to turn it off (i cut some stuff of me messing with it out of the video). i’ve never used the vanilla orientation stuff bc i like my mods so much better for that. never had it randomly generate like that! i’ll see if i can change it in cas. ty!! i’m being a bit of a boomer about this game with any feature after high school years i fear LMAO

The game automatically makes all npcs, or anyone who spawns in aromantic + asexual or open to anything for me. its so effing frustrating when you go to the club, and anyone your sim meets has their preferences set to that, and trying to change it is like pulling teeth, and ruins ur game :(. not to mention the fact that since that update, the sims has been unplayable for me so... 💀 everything works but the traits... I can't see them in CAS, but I can in the live mode section. with mods or without mods. if anyones heard about this, a little help would be really appreciated T^T
