Hi darling! I did a cover the other day under Canva's new change of having a choice between RGB and CMYK. Have you made anything through Canva recently? If so, are you downloading your PDFs as RGB or CMYK? I downloaded mine as CMYK and the preview pic of it on KDP doesn't look like how my printout from my home printer looked. I've ordered a copy to myself but I'm still waiting to receive it. I thought I'd ask you to get your opinion.

Great video, but what about that vertical line on the page? It suppose this line has to change depending on the page, to the right and to the left, and how can we add cute chibi designs on the corners to make it more interesting, I added cute designs on the corners but for some reason kdp did not accept the file any suggestion?

@tanzduwe99312 жыл бұрын
Great job! I am a big fan. I have to seek your videos out for clarity. For this last video; the simple composition book, kind of got confused on spacing between the horizontal lines. Your audio says 0.8 of an inch but the visual I see when you let off on shift+alt is 0.28 of an inch. Is there a better way to create these lines and align them? A little design challenged.
@PodHustle2 жыл бұрын
It’s 0.28 inches as shown in the video. Unfortunately, there’s no alternative way to space elements, other than using that feature. It’s quite easy though. Click on the element, drag it down pressing alt+shif, until you see 0.28. Then, without clicking the mouse or touching anything on the keyboard, you duplicate that last action, by clicking crtl+D as many times as you need.

Hi I'm a big fan! I had a question. When you create your pages do you have to flip them so your vertical line faces the outer edge when printed on the back side of each page? Or does KDP automatically do it?
@PodHustle2 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU NIA! No, don't do that. KDP will automatically do that. The layout stays the same for every page. The only case in which you have to create a different layout, it is when left and right pages should look different (symetrical, for example). In my case, left and right should look the same (the vertical line serves as a starting point for your handwriting, so it should always be placed on the left side of the page, both on the left and right ones), so I haven't made any changes. But in some other books (especially planners), you have a different layout for left/right pages. Always take a look at what other high-rated books have inside, just like I did.
@NiaG20132 жыл бұрын
@@PodHustle Yikes! So far I've only done one book (my beginners notebook). It was a graph paper notebook. I flipped the "back page" (every othet pg) so it would be symmetrical to its front. I probably messed that up. I'm so glad I watched your video because I started to skip it thinking I didn't need it.

Hi.. Margins confuse me a lot.. Can you plz clarify that instead of adding 1.25" n 0.25" to our with bleed page Margins n making the page size bigger can't we simply leave it the original size that we want n stay within 0.375" margins?? Because when we want to create an 8.5 by 11" book n add 0.125 n 0.25 to the margins n then when we select our book size which we want 8.5 by 11 while uploading it says interior doesn't match. So should we add extra or not is a big confusion.. Would highly appreciate if you could explain that Thank you
@PodHustle2 жыл бұрын
If you need bleed, you have to add those extra inches. When you’re uploading your book, make sure you select both the right trim size AND bleed.

Is creating a book cover and interior on canva wrong because you can't get 300 DPI? When I save the image the resolution is 72 pixels per inch.
@private74192 жыл бұрын
What about the vertical line (top and bottom) or the horizontal lines (left and right)? They're outside the margins. Will that cause a problem with Amazon? Why is it only the bottom horizontal lines that are an issue?
@PodHustle2 жыл бұрын
Cause in the example I made, the bottom line was COMPLETELY outside of the margins. The other lines are out inside and outside. So the rule is: an element can stretch to the end of the page (outside the margins) AS LONG AS the same element has a part inside the safe area. Hope I made myself clear. It’s easier done than said, once you’ve got it.
