******Update 9/2024****** A few people have mentioned issues when trying this on a Raspberry Pi 5. If you see "Unsupported System Page Size" errors when running the authserver or worldserver do the following: Run the following command in terminal: sudo nano /boot/firmware/config.txt Then scroll down to the [all] section. Right below the [all] section paste in: kernel=kernel8.img Then CTRL + O and then CTRL + X Reboot the pi and all should be well! On another note AzerothCore has changed up a number of things with there project. I haven't had a chance to redo the commands list guide yet but hopefully I will have a new one up in the next few days. The key thing is they no longer support mariadb and requires MySQL v8.4.

Cool, im gonna do this , i also brought a raspberry pi that i dont really use, i used it as an emulator, but since i got the steam deck, i havent used my pi for much.

Trinitycore would be nice. There’s a guy working on adapting the 3.4.3 client for trinitycore. He is not currently doing it for azerothcore.

Absolutely, just install the playerbot module and you're good to go.

can you make one for install using ubuntu and azerothcore. I'd like to use a gui rather than text based and putty. I can use a SFF computer then use my tv screen for the monitor, wireless keyboard/mouse to make changes. Could you also add installation of bots and bot control? I like the way you explain this, some other dude tried to make a tutorial, but he got on my nerves.

I do have a guide on just Linux as a whole but it does use the text interface as well. One thing you can do is download the command sheet to your Linux machine. Then just open terminal and do like what I did with putty. Just physically on that actual machine. I do plan to make a modules guide in the next two weeks so keep an eye out for that one :)

Can you make a video on how to back up your server/character database using putty/Debian without yhe gui? Maybe need a usb drive on yhe machine your using, maybe repacking it? I don’t know, just guessing what /how to do it.

I like how you install everything like a pianist playing a complex piano song. But when i try the same and launch the game, my screen goes black and my computer freezes. Tyvm though. I believe i will manage to install it and enjoy offline world of warcraft someday.

If you have multiple monitors the game client can freak out sometimes and cause the black screen stuff. Another thing is try forcing the game client to run in windowed mode and see if that helps. Might have to do some googling as I can't remember the exact method to force windowed mode on if the client isn't displaying.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with using a steam deck as I don't have one. As for single player I believe AzerothCore has a module that can make that work.

Not sure if I do something wrong but I use a RPi-5 8GB and on the first make command I keep getting this error: /home/arthas/azerothcore/src/server/database/Database/MySQLConnection.cpp:133:9: fatal error: use of undeclared identifier 'mysql_ssl_mode'; did you mean 'mysql_ssl_set'? mysql_ssl_mode opt_use_ssl = SSL_MODE_DISABLED; ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~ mysql_ssl_set Can someone help me on this problem?

To install player bots i just download the right fork and clone the mod to modules and i can just do the same process than u after it right?? If i write 0.0.0.0 instead the local addres shoulndt it be fine? Cuz i move a lots and the ip will be changing

I admit I haven't gone through the paces of trying the modules yet. I need to see it and then make a video at some point. I know a KZbin channel but the name of Nirv showed it recently if that helps. As for the IP. You could try adding it by hostname too.

When I try and start the world server file it gives me errors saying it is missing maps files. Even though I downloaded the ones from the official core site. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I can not seem to compile them on my windows pc because it is having issues with compiling the core in order to get the build tools directory.

By default it doesn't have bots but player bot modules can be added.

The recommendation from the project is either the IP or 127.0.0.1
