Disclaimer: I’m not a pattern writer, and I’m half asleep rn, but anyways here’s timestamps for the different parts 0:08 - chain equivalent to 9” (or your preference); faux knit stitch (aka slip stitch) BLO; repeat until 19” (or your preference) 1:15 - SC along top 1:47 - connect both ends with SC 2:23 - SC two rows along bottom; tie off and turn inside out 3:18 - starting opposite from the seam, SC BLO, increasing on the 10th; at the end, SC another stitch into the beginning loop, but do not connect them 4:47 - SC both loops all the way across, turning each time at the edges of the hood for 3 rows 5:07 - SC both loops all the way across, increasing on every 5th for 4 rows 5:52 - SC all across for 12 rows/7” 6:12 - SC halfway around the hood, decrease by 2 (insert into stitch and pull up a loop, insert into the next stitch and pull up a loop, then YO and pull through all 3 - repeat once more); SC the rest of the way 7:11 - SC halfway around the hood and decrease; continue until desired hood height 7:44 - connecting the hood piece 8:52 - SC around hood opening

Somewhat hard to follow. Being more specific as to rows beginning, like saying…Row 2 ch 1,turn, sc around, doing 2sc in every 5th ch…Row3 ch 1, turn….etc. you ramble a little, so have to do lot of deciphering what transcript says. Not sure my hood part is coming out as big as yours did and that’s what I want. Have to work on it. But I think I have the idea.

This looks so awesome and seems like it would be perfect for our cold Canadian winters...but I'm on the 4th row of the "increase every 5 sc's" and it's looking so wavy, not at all like yours. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It should be sitting way more flat, I think

Are you using the same sized tools? If you're not you can always adjust the increases. If it's too wavy you can increase further out and that should eliminate the wave. so maybe increase into every 7th or even 10th depending on what it looks like.

I am in the process of making mine now but I've run into a problem and i hope I'm still doing this right. I'm doing the hood part and after row 7 my work began to do waves. I've gone a bit further and the waves still won't go away. Am I doing something wrong?

Question: after 3 rows from Cowl, is it increase every 5 stitches for the entire row? And increasing for 7 rows?

😅I should have explained that better. My apologies for any confusion it may have caused. Rows 4-7 INC into every 5th. Including the first 3 rows + the increase rows you'll have a total of 7 rows. A quick tip is to try this on as you go though cause you may not need it to increase that much. It was said at the end of the video, but we made this into a very large hood cause I have a lot of hair. 😊

So I did this and it was MASSIVE for me. Still wearable and fun to have. If I wanted it to be not so massive, would I just change the increase rounds to be more "spaced out" like increase on every 8th and then every 16th?

I’m busy with the snood part but for some reason my back loop slip stitch runs horizontally and not vertically like yours does . What am I doing wrong ?

This makes up really fast... But it took me quite a bit of yarn. 400 yds of size 6 with a 10mm hook. Now, I think where it got too big is from the stitches around the cowl. I should have done fewer stitches and then maybe not done so many increases. Still, it's kind of fun. I made this just for dog walking. It will definitely be warm, that's for sure. I may go back and detatch the hood at some point and rework it into a smaller hood or a hat.

I know you used category 6 yarn but would it be possible to use a thinner yarn (eg category 4) and just use the measurements over the amount of chains? Sorry if I didn't explain what I meant very well

Sometimes we accidentally decrease by skipping the last or first Stitch. Maybe that's why?

I was trying to trust the process but I’ve tried this video 3 times, hours and hours of work, and still the hood bit is a million times larger than the video, I can’t see the top up otherwise it looks massive. The open bit isn’t big enough and I can’t add anymore rows as previously stated the hood is already large as shit. I look like a UFO. Someone please link a better hood 🫡

This is an older video. We've changed up, quite a bit, how we teach now, but if you need it slower you can always click the CC along the bottom of the video to adjust the playback speed. 😁

We give measurements into stead of Chain counts so that everyone with every tension and yarn type/hook can make it. Just keep up with the measurements and they're good. 😊

I can’t for the life of me figure out how you folded the turtle neck part of the hoodie. I made mine according to your instructions and my turtle neck doesn’t fold like yours. Nice pattern, but mine turned out differently.

This is an older video, roughly 3 years, but we always state the hook size within the 1st sentence of the tutorial. We tell the amount of yarn now. 😊
