Beautiful! Only issue! I see (for me) us the neck area is extremely small I'm not sure my head would squeeze thru that opening. Any suggestions for a beginner sweater maker? Thank you. Again, gorgeous sweater!

Thank you ❤️ To get a bigger head hole leave more stitches. For the head space, I did 22 stitches shoulder then 21 stitches head space then 22 stitches shoulder. Instead do something like 21 stitches shoulder, 23 stitches head space and 21 stitches shoulder. When you do the chain and connect to the other shoulder try it on and see how it fits. If no luck adjust the stitch count until happy. Hope that helps☺️

What weight is this yarn , 3 ? Could this be turned into a cardigan instead of jumper ? Instead of connecting the neck can each should just be made with same amount of rows ?
@luckyplatypus
@luckyplatypus 25 күн бұрын
Yes it is a 3. Sure can do as a cardigan. You can do the neck different but allow more stitches in the neck space if not doing the shoulder bits eg 19 stitches, then 32 stitches head hole chain, then 19 stitches. And allow more rows to count for no worked shoulders eg about 4 extra rows on both sides. I hope I understood you and I hope that makes sense ☺️

Bit of an ask I know but I was really curious what yarns and colour ways you used for all of the different jumpers shown at the beginning of the video? I thought I could recognise some but would really like to know what the colour names were, especially if they were all made from moda vera valley yarn but specifically what different colours they were?? Checking again some look to be sierra colour ways, I wonder how close I am? Thanks in advance! :)

Most are Moda Vera Valley. I have used every colour they offer for these jumpers. I didn't use Sierra for these but you can do. 2 are Moda Vera Bellbird. Floral mix and don't know what the other is called, but again I have used all the colours for these jumpers. Several are using yarn that I have had in my stash for years and blending with a lace/fingerling weight yarn. A plain yarn (requiring a 4mm hook) with a colourful lace/fingerling yarn such as 'dream colour' from Hobbii or for a bit of bling, 'universe' also from Hobbii. Those ones make a thicker jumper and I used a 7mm hook and less stitches (eg for the size I demonstrated I would have 60 instead of 70 stitches) Hope that helps😀

I appreciate you letting me know those, however would really like to know what yarn you used for the second pinkish blend jumper please? I thought I saw the rock wall sierra in the brown blend one but if not if you could let me know that one also I'd be very grateful. I can usually recognise most of the Australian brands and colours but am stuck on those two?? Have you tried out some of the newer valley colours, like Coachella, that's one of my favourites! 😃

@luckyplatypus 25 күн бұрын
@alwayslearning9272 The 2 that you are talking about (I think) are both the ones where I blended 2 yarns together. Yep, I have made one with Coachella. My favourite. And yep I have used all the 'valley' colours 😄👍🏻

I ❤ this sweater! I’m an American and I’m so glad this video popped up in my feed. I love this yarn, but I’m not sure I’d be able to find it in the States. But I went to my yarn stash and found that Red Heart’s Roll With It Melange yarn is very similar: 100% acrylic, 150 gr, and 356 meters. I’ve got 4 skeins of it, so I’m ready to roll (bad pun intended!). 😊 Thanks for the beautiful pattern!

@teenageenaballerina8350 brilliant and thanks for letting everyone know what yarn they can use in US. (Had people ask but of course can only say what is available in Australia). When you have finished I would love to see a photo. You can post on my Instagram @lucky_platypus1 or FB @luckyplatypus. Enjoy and happy crocheting 🧶
