Your channel is my FAVORITE in the whole KZbin world!!!! I love it when we get a new video. I also love it that you don’t put one out everyday or every week. If you did I would get nothing accomplished other than watching your videos. 😅❤❤❤

Girl, I have been looking for a new vid from you. I swear I've watched every one of your videos a dozen times each. I'm working the 1851 shawl at the moment. I am just hooked on you. Pun intended 😊

@charisseproffitt365320 күн бұрын
@charlenebennett4188 you may find this crazy for me to ask, but, tell me all about it. What yarns did you use the hooks. Who were they for. I guess it's a crocheter thing. 😆
@LennyLefebvre-qb6qx20 күн бұрын
That one is so gorgeous!!! I have been dying to make it. It will be the first thing from Just Vintage Crochet that I will make.
@charisseproffitt365320 күн бұрын
@LennyLefebvre-qb6qx it has been so easy to do. I had to put it down for a bit while I do Christmas stuff. But I'm using the same yarn that Corinne used only I couldn't find the orange and pink so I'm using rust and cream. I'll send Corinne a picture of it when I'm finished. Right now I'm working on some 60s and 70s items for my granddaughters. I know I liked them when my grandma made them for me, so I thought my babies would like them too. 😆

I seem to have a memory of Great-Great-Grandma Dozier cutting her threads at the end of each row and starting anew at the beginning when working her thread crochet items. But I was a very wee tot at that time, and I could certainly be wrong. I was always at her knee watching her crochet, knit, and tat. She helped me learn all my embroidery and needlework, and I've done some form of fiber art mt entire life. Tackling these vintage and antique patterns from so many eras seems like a true challenge! Much respect.

Because you majority crochet, you should try the European style of holding the wool when you are knitting then you don’t have to stop and swing the wool around. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ love all your videos so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was thinking about that too. Simply go for continental knitting, it is like crocheting😊

Your reading of the pattern created a quiet, elegant version versus the "fancier" picture of the completed pattern. Both are quite nice.

Vintage crochet IS exciting! Plus I have learned so much watching your videos, both from you as a person and also I feel like looking at and reading through these old patterns gives a lot of perspective for crochet in general. I love this particular pattern. If I have time I might make this for my mother in law for her birthday, and I'll make it out of some of my hand dyed thread 🖤

Love seeing the monthly. boxes. But I am curious, since you crochet so much, you must be comfortable with the yarn being on your left hand. Why did you have the yarn on your right hand when you showed knitting the knit sample? Was it because a lot of people generally keep the yarn on their right hand when they knit and thus didn't knit with the yarn on your left hand? Or have you not had the opportunity to see or hear of the "pick method" of knitting where the yarn is held on the left hand? Both methods work very well. But I personally think the pick method of knitting is faster. Love you videos. Really admired your nails that changed color from black to burnished reddish-gold over the plain gold ones. Really love your verbal detective thinking in deciphering the instructions that really tend to assume you would automatically know what was common knowledge methods of the times.

I wonder why it needs a case. Did they travel with their toilette covers? Very pretty pattern. Would make a nice set of placemats
@dee417420 күн бұрын
I think the "case" is a satin case for stuffing and this goes on top and bottom. You could also put lavender in there to keep moths out of your boudoir! 😂
