The placing of the crochet hook looks familiar. I believe the actual name of this stitch is the Waistcoat Stitch if anyone was wondering. It makes a really nice, dense and study fabric. Perfect for baskets and I would imagine pot holders.

I love your videos.... I've just watched three in a row. I think you're a great teacher with the details you provide, the pace at which you work, and how clear your instructions are. I just have one request or suggestion: in the videos I've watched, you're using white or light pink yarn on a white background so it's not very easy to see what you're doing or what the stitches look like because of the lack of contrast. The work blends into your background. I would suggest using a dark background with the light yarn or keep the lighter background and use a little darker yarn.
