@galerenouf2625
@galerenouf2625 5 ай бұрын
@diamond3170 hey, so it actually does show the count. Each numbered row counts as one stitch space that you will work into(1. Is the first stitch you're working into, 2. Is the second, so on) and each stitch will contain two stitches. So, for example, number 2 says "sc hdc," so in that second stitch space of your moon, you will work one single crochet and one half double crochet. If that makes sense lol I'm bad at explaining 😅

I saw a TikTok a while ago with this style and I loved it, so I went googling recently and could only find paid PDFs and they just weren’t the style I was imaging. So I took back to TikTok and found your page, and thought your patterns were wonderful. I looked you up on KZbin and now I’ve done the moon, sun and star. @@girlovecupcake Hi there. It sounds like when you start working with the background yarn after making the moon you are skipping over the slip stitch (first stitch made when making the moon) and instead working a slip stitch into the top of the single crochet (second stitch made when making the moon)...have I got this right? If so, you want to make sure that when you start with the background yarn that you slip stitch into the top of the first slip stitch of the moon. Then you will either chain 3 or do an alternate standing double crochet. In the next stitch (the top of the single crochet of the moon) you will do the extended double crochet. This should also fix the problem you are having when you get round to the other side of the moon....just make sure you work into the top of both slipped stitches at the start and end of the moon. Does this make sense?

Hello! I’m so glad you and your granddaughter like the pattern! The white yarn is just a standard 8ply cotton from Spotlight in Australia - “Four Seasons” brand “Flinders” range. The hand dyed yarn is also Australian - Blackwattle is the name of the company, and it’s the “Bluegum” yarn in “Songbird” colourway. It is such a pretty yarn…but if you’re overseas check out boutique dyers, they might have something similar 😄

It feels like the counts don't work out. If the moon is started with a slst after the st you finished the first colour in, then when you slst the starting colour into the first sc of the moon, you're skipping 2 stitches. Also by the end, my trc ch trc is happening in the last SC of the moon, (not the third to last hdc st which it'd have to be to have the DC land on the last moon st) then there's only 7 sts betweeb the two corners. So, the two missing we slst over at the start?? I've managed to work it out in my own way bu not doing any slsts in the moon but if anyone else understands/could make it make sense I'd appreciate it

@@julescraftfolk i was having the same issue, kept coming out 1 stitch short at the end of row 3 and the result looked a bit crooked. i think this is where i went wrong, i slip stitched the background color into the first stitch after the slip stitch of the moon, instead of the first stitch after the slip *knot* - which is actually the slip stitch. i think the instructions confused me and that's why i confused slip knot and slip stitch 😅 i will try again to find out whether that was my mistake. hopefully this thread will help other people having the same issue

Hello! You could just put the square on the diagonal, but it depends what position you want the moon to be in. If you want the moon to stay in the same position, but the background around it is diagonal (I hope that makes sense) you will need to start the background round (after the moon) with a dc, hdc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, edc, 2tc ch2, 2tc (so that corner will be on the top of the moon) then continue with the standard pattern. Hope that helps!

What is the brand of white wool?

What brand and color yarn is this please?
@julescraftfolk
@julescraftfolk 8 ай бұрын
Hello!

How big does it turn out?
@julescraftfolk
@julescraftfolk 5 ай бұрын
You can choose to do one round of the background or two depending on how large you want the squares. With one round mine are 3.5inches / 9cm. With two rounds they are 4.5inches / 11.5cm

@@julescraftfolk okay thank you!! I’ll use a little bit thicker yarn and a 4mm hook and hope it turns out 13cm, bc that’s the size I need!

@@Catsarebreadyou could always try adding an extra round of double crochet…or half double crochet. That would get it around 13cm I think.

I keep ending up with ten stitches or 9 with a big gap on my first round after the moon :(
@julescraftfolk
@julescraftfolk 8 ай бұрын
Hello! It might be that you have an extra stitch in the second round of the middle circle (before you made the moon). If so, look at timestamp 4:30 and make sure you're joining this circle up at the first DC....also count the stitches in this circle and make sure you have the right amount. Good Luck!!

Oh no! Perhaps there is something going wrong with the moon round and you’re left a few stitches short. If you wanna send me a photo on Insta @craftfolk I’ll see if I can figure it out 😀

Thanks. I found what I did wrong. When switching back to the "sky" yarn I skipped the first stich of the moon. Which was the slipstich it was hard to get into that one. But I did a second one and turned out perfect
