this is a good tutorial and makes a lovely granny square. i think it would be helpful of explaining which stitch you are talking about, rather than just saying 'this one' as it can get confusing as you follow along

Idk how but I end up with an extra stitch at the end of round five - theres supposed to be 9 stitches between the corners which I have but there like a tenth stitch for me not sure where I went wrong because Im counting and making sure. But I just slip stitch and act like its not there but I’d like to make it correctly 😅

I’m glad you like it! I roughly use 25grams of the white and 100grams of the background colour for each 13 squares I made. This was in 8 ply / DK yarn. Hope that helps 😀

Is there a good way to make a square the same size with no design? Worst case should I do one of these all in one color?

Hi! You will probably want to do a solid granny square. I don't have a tutorial for it but they are easy to make (look up some tutorials on YT). You'll need to do some trials to get it to end up the same size and number of stitches in the final round. Good luck!

Hi! At the end of the 2nd background round there is 15 stitches per side (13 stitches plus 2 corner chain stitches) At the end of the 3rd background round there is 19 stitches per side (17 stitches plus 2 corner chain stitches) hope that helps!

I’m so confused you say to skip over the chain 2 (which should drop the count to 11) and then increase in every stitch and that you’ll end up with 24. But the math says I should end up with 22 though? Can you clarify what’s going on and if I’m doing something wrong?
