How to Crochet a Mug Cozy with Attached Bottom Coaster Tutorial and Pattern for Easy and Quick Gifts

In this tutorial video I'll show you how to crochet a cute mug cozy for your coffee cup!
Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. This crochet mug cozy pattern is a quick and easy gift to make. It has an attached coaster on the bottom. Plus it can be made with any type of yarn!
This project is simple to make if you know how to crochet the single crochet stitch. Plus it helps to know how to crochet in the round. You can use any type of worsted weight yarn that you like, such as acrylic, cotton, and wool. I'm using a size H 5 mm crochet hook for my cozy.

Yes! My grands always say that their mugs are too hot to hold (They use 2 hands.), but then complain the coco is too cold to drink once the mug cools down. Looks like we've just been given the answer!!!

Thank you! It was an older one called Stitch Studio by Nicole that they used to have at AC Moore. Pretty much anything will work with these, acrylic, cotton, wool, etc. as long as it's worsted weight (medium, #4).

How would you make this for large like soup mugs

I would increase that bottom circle until it fits the bottom of the larger mugs. Our last round was sc, sc, sc, sc, 2sc. The next round to make it larger would be sc, sc, sc, sc, sc, 2sc. You would increase each round by 1 sc until the circumference fits the bottom, then follow the rest of the pattern from there, adjusting the total stitch number in your head.
