Need a quick teacher's gift? You can turn this quick and easy cup cozy into a pencil cup cozy. Here is how: - Follow this video for how to make the basic cup cozy. - Make the starting chain and rows 1-4 in a charcoal or black yarn. - Work rows 5-11 in a light tan colored yarn. - Work rows 12-37 in a gold colored yarn. - Work rows 38-42 in a light grey colored yarn. - Work rows 43-53 in a pink colored yarn. - - I worked the charcoal and light tan stitches as normal single crochets and all the other rows in the back loops only for a little textured. Happy Crocheting, Lindsey

You are welcome. Some people have trouble with the loop at the beginning. We are creating a loop first then working in rows starting at the very tip of the pointed section.

Thank you for sharing this. I'm trying but I barely started and even with the video I'm confused. I'm trying so hard to see where to poke the hook into each time and how it's being held, etc. I don't know why I struggle with it so much! I really need to channel the spirit of my mother who crocheted while watching TV without even looking at her work and made beautiful things.

This is an easy pattern but it sounds like you might look up a video on just single crochet or how to crochet in the back loop only depending on which part is giving you trouble.

I just made one!! So easy, thank you so much! One question though: Mine was far too big, thick and loose. I used a size H but I had to unravel it to about 37 rows instead of 53. I don't have the yarn size handy since I balled it up a long while ago. Am I possibly stitching too loose? Or is my yarn just a bit too large? (I made the ribbed/textured version and still works and looks great, just curious)
@WindingRoadCrochet
@WindingRoadCrochet 3 жыл бұрын
Yes everyone stitches differently. That is why we provide the gauge so you can adjust your hook size and the size come out correct. Maybe the yarn was too big. that would also result in a large cozy. But like you already did, you can just pull out some stitches and you are all good.

I’m at a beginner level. It would have been helpful for me to have a total length of the cozy in addition to the number of rows. 🙂

All that information and more is located on the written pattern. This cozy measures 13.5 inches by 2.5 inches.

Where did you get your hook???

Can I ask where you crochet hook is from? ツ
@WindingRoadCrochet
@WindingRoadCrochet Жыл бұрын
Without looking I am going to assume it is the Furls Crochet hook. If it is metal than it is the Furls Odyssey hook and if it is wood it is the Furls Streamline Hook.

Ugh! I'm lost in the circle and can't get past that! I've tried slowing it down, stopping/pausing, and I still just can't make heads nor tails of how in the heck to do this. What I'm making is NOTHING like what's being shown and for the life of me, I just can't wrap my head around it. Surely there must be a better way of showing how to do this?
@WindingRoadCrochet
@WindingRoadCrochet 2 жыл бұрын
You are creating a circle as a button hole. Then when you start crocheting you will only crochet into one of the chains from the circle then begin moving up from there working back and forth in the rows. So you will have 1 single crochet in row 1. You will have 2 single crochets in row 2. Then 3 single crochets in row 3. We are working one increase in each row for rows 2-11 to create the point.
