This is such a COOL HAT!! Im making it for a friend right now. Followed the recommendation of using a slightly smaller hook when using red heart yarn, got to row 8 and it only measures 8 inches acorss! I feel like i messed up so bad! I really want this hat to turn out as great as yours does

You are very clear and easy to understand. By the way, I would call that part on the hat a hat band. I don't know if that's correct, but it makes sense to me. I made your strawberry cake scarf a couple of years ago. It was fun.
