When I was like 12, me and my sister used to crochet a lot bu I have not crocheted since my teens. I've made dollies and a skirt that I actually wore to high school. To slowdown the procedure of any video like this you just tap on the top right corner of the screen to find 3 black dots, then tap on these dots, the option menu appear. Select the “speed” that is at normal rate, but you can choose .75 or slower. Hope this can help everyone to watch the instructions slow as you need.

Susan Treat hi I was just browsing,I’ve made several of these and crocheted for about 15 yrs. I subscribed to her channel about 3 yrs ago. She has begging videos that are more close up . This yarn she’s using Hopscotch is just acrylic yarn the tightness could be from your tension your using or if you crochet hook is not the size j 6.00 mm when your tension is to tight you might want to relax your hands to loosen your tension. I often have to do that. I hope that helps💕

your written instructions say the first double crochet is on the 3rd ch from hook, your video says 4th ch from hook, does it make a difference?

It is generally three, as the ones you chain at the beginning of every new round, but I tried with four, as she says, and it doesn't seem to make any difference 😉

you can avoid those large, uneven holes by doing an extra double crochet when you get to the end ... this also give it a nice even line along the sides of the scarf ... :)

First off, I LOVE these videos! So easy to follow and Jennifer has such a great attitude and so much energy, it makes me WANT to do the project! I am almost a quarter of the way through my scarf, but I kept doing that final stitch of the row into the turning chain, thinking that you were supposed to do that with every row. My scarf is beautiful, but I have holes on either side from doing that. It is the first thing I have ever made, so it's not going to be perfect, but I am a little bummed. I'm too far in to start over, but I'm such a perfectionist that it is driving me nuts now!

too impossible. i'm returning it all to the store. this video inspired me to buy stuff and once i got it i realized i just cant do it. i got the initial braid down but it was impossible to get the other part done. i think maybe its bc the ladies at the store told me to get a 5 size j hook and my yarn was smaller too so maybe that's why its too tight to get to the next step. i also cant see what ur doin.

This might be too advanced. Start with the slip knot, practice your foundation chains, then learn the single crochet. Thats what I did.

Why is my scarf getting narrower and narrower with each row that I do? Figured it out...I was skipping the first hole like she said to do but was not double crocheting in the three chain at the end! After I fixed, the scarf turned out beautifully!

Thank you! I'm making a scarf right now. Had a few false starts but it's going well. The only bad thing is that the edges are a little uneven and i have to stretch the scarf out. Not sure if I'm accidentally skipping stitches or varying how stiff I hold each stitch.
