THANK YOU!!! I'm working on this gorgeous little blanket, the trudie throw, and I don't know if maybe I'm over complicating things but there are so many little bits and bobs to deal with. I found a few old boye bobbins in my mom's crafting stash but not enough for all my yarn ends, and this little tutorial helped me get everything under control by using butterfly bobbins. the butterflies are also incredibly adorable haha

This is fabulous as I was just juggling balls doing C2C patterns. Not good at spock fingers so will try Pam Holloways suggestion. Thanks Pam as well

I do something similar, but instead of the Spock fingers, I hold the loose working end in my palm, and wrap around forefinger and thumb. It gives a similar size bobbin, but there's more space between loops and hand when wrapping off. (And my arthritic fingers don't have to stretch!) My grandmother showed me this method about 50 years ago. It can be taken further - when making a full skein into a ball, then use the thread from the inside. Pop the ball into a bag, it stays in to keep the yarn clean (if you get the tension right!)

Thanks, Tamara! I'm working a graphed Yoda hat with lots of colour changes, & the full sized skeins are giving me a headache :D
