I was just scrolling YT looking for a nice pattern for a baby blanket and came across your channel. This is perfect for my youngest Niece’s first baby due next month. Thank you! I have enjoyed it so much I have just subscribed. I have two other blankets made already but know one can never have enough blankets with little ones and this one looks perfect! I have crocheted for years and made many baby and toddler blankets and know all the cute textured ones with lots of holes look pretty but are not convenient for parents when the little one constantly gets their fingers caught in them, just as expensive yarn that must be hand washed and dried flat is also an inconvenience and will seldom get used. So I have been quite picky with the blanket patterns and yarns. This one is perfect! Thank you so much for sharing. Your explanation is perfect and your video was quite clear. I have been teaching another Niece to crochet and will be sharing your channel with her as she won’t get frustrated with your videos and explanations. Thanks again! I'm trying to do this as a hat but when I end I end on a half double yet started off with a slip stich. I even added a chain just to make sure and sane thing happened

Did you work out the problem? If you are doing this stitch in the round, you actually want that to happen. So the stitches are always sl st, hdc, around and if starting with a sl st, you want it to end with an Hdc for a flush finish. The only time you want it to end the same is if you are crocheting in the flat such as a scarf, blanket, etc But, if you are worried about the ending stitch not being the same as the starting stitch despite the count to get there, it could be, if crocheting in the round that you are accidentally adding a stitch at the end. If you have not done so, use a stitch marker to show you where your last stitch will go (it can just be a bit of yarn, nothing fancy) when you join your chain, instead of putting your marker in your first stitch, put it in the stitch before your sl st, ch and turn for the next row. Did that make sense? And until you feel you have it working correctly, always stop and recount your stitches just to make sure you have not added or skipped a stitch in the row. I hope this helps. 🤞
