Thank you so much! I have five sons and I’m hoping to make them socks for Christmas. Most of them are grown now, basically all of them are grown. I am quarantined right now waiting for test results, I have a sock loom that I bought last year, and I watched a lot of tutorials and even the disc that came with and how to use the sock loom. However I find them very confusing. This year was my first year to crochet scarfs, and I was encouraged to look up how to crochet men’s socks. And I found your tutorial, I am very encouraged. So thank you very much!

Hi Miss Roses Story Time, To adjust the size, you may use a larger size crochet hook or pick up more chs (step 3 - interunet.com/crochet-socks-easy-to-follow-stitch) on the edge of the cuff ribbing. I would add about 2 chains to the sizes 11, 12 and about 4 chs to the size 14. After the heel single crochet to the end of each pinky toe, and begin to work decrease rounds. Happy crochet!

Hi MrDschultz8, It depends on your gauge interunet.com/crochet-socks-easy-to-follow-stitch. First, you crochet ribbing rows until it will be wide enough to connect around your lower leg. Then work the heel. Lastly, crochet in the round until your reach to the end of your pincky toe and begin the decrease. Happy crochet!

Hi there, I've started the tutorial and realized that I am using a bigger hook and a wider yarn (us 7/4.5mm hook and medium 4ply wool yarn). How should I adjust the number of ribbon rows (you have 24/48) and the following increased part (you have 60). Thanks!!
@InterUnet10 жыл бұрын
waterlynx29 Hi waterlynx29, Thanks for the good questions. You need to crochet as many ribbing rows as necessary to fit the ribbing snugly around your ankle. To estimate how many chains to pick up on the edge of the ribbing, it's necessary to measure your foot circumference (widest part) and count how many chains go into about 4 inches (gauge/tension). If you give me those numbers, I will be able to help you out. Happy crochet!
@taccora9 жыл бұрын
Can you help me with the amount of chains I need to pick up on the edge of the ribbing? The widest part of my foot is 12 inches (I have a high arch) and there are about 37 stitches in a 4 inch gauge. Am I right to assume I need to pick up 111 stitches? That seems excessive. FYI, I used the same yarn and chained 76 stitches and it circled the widest part of my foot perfectly.
@InterUnet9 жыл бұрын
+taccora Hi taccora, My foot circumference (widest part) is about 9.5 inches and gauge is about 27 chs go into 4 inches (interunet.com/crochet-socks-easy-to-follow-stitch). My calculations: (9.5" x 27chs)/4 = 64 chs. To fit the sock snugly, I subtracted 4 chs from 64 chs or 6%. You may pick up 76 chs, if you think that will be enough. Happy crochet!

After that measure his foot circumference (widest part) and your gauge. To know your gauge, place a ruler on a row and count how many chains go into about 4 inches. Then estimate how many chains you need to pick up on the edge of the ribbing to his foot circumference accordingly. Then follow the instructions as I did in the video. If you are not sure how to estimate the number of needed chs to pick up on the edge of the ribbing, write me your gauge and the foot circumference and I'll try to help you out. Happy crocheting!

I lessened a number of raws to fit my husband's legs, then continued and obviously lesser on a heal but not lesser than 9 rows and before the heal... when I continued after the heal it just kept looking giant again. It is so proportional and too huge. I mean who has such huge feet? i spent two evening on that and it is for nothing
