This method clearly works for small balls but what about larger ones? like head-sized ones or exercise-ball-sized ones?
@LusHandicrafts3 жыл бұрын
You can use chunky yarns for those sizes..
@survivalextraordinaire35723 жыл бұрын
@@LusHandicrafts True but wouldn't that kinda just delay the issue? The same method to create this ball is also used to create flat circles so on a much larger scale wouldn't this method essentially create a cylinder, not a sphere? I guess what I'm asking is, is there a definitive method to crochet a sphere regardless of the scale of the project?
@LusHandicrafts3 жыл бұрын
Bigger the base circle, bigger will be the ball. So just increase your circle size. Of course there'll be more rows and stitches as per the size. There are 3 basic formula to crochet a ball. 1. Increases till you get your circle base 2. No increase, work the same number of stitches for a number of rows and 3. Decrease in opposite manner as you had increased the base. It'll form a cylinder if your circle base is small and the body part has more rows than required. I hope this clears up a little bit of your doubt... 😊
@ellah35003 жыл бұрын
@@LusHandicrafts Thanks for the video, it is really well done and easy to follow. I have one question about the rows in the middle (the one with just one sc in each stitch). Depending on the size you want your ball to be / depending on the size of your circle, is there a rule on how many rows of just sc I have to make? Let's say I do a circle ending on 12 x 1sc then 2sc, how many rows of one sc should I work?
@LusHandicrafts3 жыл бұрын
@Ella H there's no such rules as far as I'm concern. A 12sc & inc will give quite a big size. I can't really say how many rows of just sc should you do, but try going for 20-25 rows, plus or minus few rows as per your requirement. You can see as you crochet and stuff along. You would roughly get the idea of when you'd like to start decreasing.

Hi so this is obv for a bigger ball right what if we want to make a ball for smaller size what do we do then
@LusHandicrafts4 жыл бұрын
Hi Min Meowngi! It's the Same process for smaller balls too, just that the number of rounds will be lesser. The number of rounds you make before decreasing will determine how big or small the ball will turn out to be.
@maryh98810 ай бұрын
Please, use bigger yarn. It is really hard to see, 😢 I've been having such a hard time figuring out where to join and which stitches to start. As I yarn a ball, it somehow always either loses a stiche or gains a stich.

Sorry but I’m curious, if you magic ring 6 stitches, then single crochet into the first one, then single crochet twice into the last 5... that only gives us 11, not 12, right?
@LusHandicrafts4 жыл бұрын
SC twice into the first stitch too. That's SC twice in all the 6 sts giving us 12sc in total
