This is the BEST tutorial! You are an excellent teacher!! It’s so valuable to understand the concept of the project so we can modify the size as we want it to be. You do that so well! Thank you!!

Excellent, thank you. I need to make a square and I have no idea..
@kristinavirkaАй бұрын
@@olgamattisson1996 single crochet square in simple words would be: Round 1. 8 sc in the magic ring, join in the round. Round 2. *1 sc, 3sc in the next * (4 times alltogether, 16 sts in total). Round 3. *3 sc, 3 sc in the next * (4 times, 24 sts in total). Round 4. *5 sc, 3 sc in the next* (4 times, 32 sts in total). And so on. Make sure you increases are in the middle of previous increase. Just a beginning of each round will start in the middle part of the 1st side, take note of that. For example, 3rd round, 2sc, 3sc in the next, but you finish round with 1 sc and join. This still make that side 3 sc between increase for corners. I hope you get the idea.

Will this theory work with double crochet? For a granny rectangle? You are the only person I’ve come across who has been able to explain this so simply! Thank you. 🙏
@kristinavirka6 ай бұрын
The corner increase math , yes, can be applied to double crochet rectangle. Mind that in double crochet you will have separate rows. This single crochet rectangle is in spiral rows. For Granny rectangle I am not sure, how exactly this calculation would fit, because corners are different. I didn't knit granny rectangle before, only squares.

I am trying to see what i do to increase on each end. Where do the extra sc go?
@kristinavirka2 ай бұрын
Increases go on top of previous increase, they are aligned. I have also written instructions, maybe they will be more helpful www.stylishknitting.com/crochet-rectangle-in-the-round/

Please, does anyone tend to know if the calculations work for an oval base
@kristinavirka5 ай бұрын
If you mean calculations on how to get right size, yes, it will work, oval is just rectangle shape without corners

So for the first 2 rows the 3 stitches go in the middle stitch right? Then in the third row the 3 stitches together go in the first row?
@kristinavirka8 ай бұрын
The first 2 rows are sort of set-up rows. Where in the row 1 you make 3sc increase in each end of the chain. On row 2 you skip a stitch to straight out the rectangle and make an increases in the middle stitch of previous increase. The beginning of the row will change place each round. If this is still confusing, I have written blog post - www.stylishknitting.com/crochet-rectangle-in-the-round/
@beverlyhinesley2861 Жыл бұрын
Are you increasing 2 every round?

For a baby blanket or a single blanket How many chains should I make? Please help.
@kristinavirka Жыл бұрын
Hi! Do you want to make rectangle blanket? Well, you have to decide what size ready blanket you want. Then from the longest side deduct shortest and you will get initial chain length (approx.). If you want to read a blog post about rectangle, where I explain it - www.stylishknitting.com/crochet-rectangle-in-the-round/
