Your tutorial made this so easy! I made 2 and sent one to my mother for Christmas. She's petite and loves to wrap herself in afghans, so I thought this shawl made a little wider would be perfect for her. Well, she loves it so much that she won't wear it but keeps it spread on her bed like an afghan "because it's too pretty to wear", and when spread out on the bed she can "admire the beautiful stitchwork and run her hands over the softness" (I used a very soft Caron yarn). Thanks, Yolanda!

Yolanda thank you for this video. I just made this beautiful shawl for a friend and I'm sure she will love it. I did not think I would be able to follow the direction on making this shawl because I'm left handed. I watched it twice before I decided to try it. You are a very good teacher. I was able to follow even though I needed to work from the opposite direction. Up to this point I have only crochet DC and SC. Now because of your video, I was able to follow a pattern. I'm going to go through your videos and find another pattern to learn. For those Left-Handed-Crochets out there, check out this video. I'm sure you will be able to make this too because I was able to follow it. Just take your time and listen to her every word. Happy Crocheting.

Thanks so much for posting. I love that you made a seemingly bigger project so much less intimidating. Plus, you took a pattern and made it visual. That is the most helpful part about crochet for me. Thank you so much.

Hi Yolanda. I am a beginning crocheter and find patterns very difficult to read. Thanks to you I will be able to crochet something a little new and different AND read along with the pattern. You are teaching me twice. You do an excellent job explaining what you are doing. Thank you so much for posting this! I really appreciate your hard work!

Hi, Yolanda, Thanks for helping find a project to start on. My grandma taught me how to crochet in the 1970's. I stopped crocheting in the 1980's. Now I am starting again since I am home on sick leave. You make it seem a whole lot less intimidating!

I love Yolanda's Videos! I made this shawl in red and gave away as a prayer shawl. Now I'm making one in black for myself. I wanted it to be wider than the 20" so when I did the foundation chain, I counted by 7s. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7...until I reached the width I wanted... then ADDED 5 more chains and started from there with row 1. The first row was kind of difficult but it gets very easy from there on. Even with black being hard to see, this pattern is perfect for it because you are not having to see stiches... but spaces.

I decided it was time to make something special just for myself. As soon as I saw this, I knew it was for me! I wanted something a bit more delicate so found a lovely soft off-white 3-ply sport yarn. I use a G hook and work on it at my leisure. Due to the smaller stitches, I added 5 additional sets to make the width I preferred. I have 6 skeins but looks like I'll probably end up using 5. It's lovely and delicate, and I can't wait to use it in cooler weather! Great tutorial!

Just ended with my 2nd row, never made anything other than granny squares, this took me a few times of redoing but finally got it. At first you will think this is not going to come out looking correctly after the first row but when you complete the 2nd one, it starts to make a pattern you can see. Going to start row 3. Thanks for the video.
