I tried to follow another video for a 12 point star and had to abandon it on row 5 (which was giggles and a lot of "you know" [which I clearly do not] and not explaining or showing the next steps). I'll be ripping that sample and starting over with you. As one Robin to another, I really enjoy your directions & explanations. Thank you for saving my sanity.

OH😮MY😯GOSH!!!😲 WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!! I have been on a hunt for the perfect and just right 👌🏻tree skirt nearly as long as I have been old enough to have my own tree. If theyre beautiful and I really like one its too damn expensive, and if its a good price , I dont think its very pretty. Then I decide which one to settle on all the while during Christmas and right after being generally underwhelmed. (Tree skirt selection is a job I takecVERY SERIOUSLY......as you can see from above 😅🤣) HOWEVER !!!☝🏻 Due to your genius modification, that can now be something I think of in past tense. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS Means?!?! ~yes of course you do, this was YOUR IDEA after all remember? I CAN NOW HAVE CUSTOM TREE SKIRTS IN THE COLORS, PATTERNS AND TEXTURES! Literally right down to ghe stitces that make it up. This is a game changer folks. This also means I am guaranteed to love my tree skirt every year from now on...cuz if i dont i just start again. You have saved the day..no ypu saved Christmas. Forever. And for THAT I will be forever thankful 🙏🏻 🙌🏻 😌 💕 More than you could ever know. ❤️🙏🏻 Now having said all that..just one more tiny minute detail; CAN I USE YOUR IDEA TOO!?! 🤣🤣🥰🥰

I came into the comments to check if I could do this specifically with Mandala Baby Yarn (mine's Acre Woods), and I'm so glad yours was the first comment I came across, as I now know I can do it in that yarn 😊 I started one on Wednesday but a different pattern (still a 12 pointed star) and, at round 30, it's bunched up terribly in the middle and I have to fight with it to flatten, but I'm going to frog it and try this pattern instead 😁

So lovely! Those colour changes are quite stunning. I’m currently working on a 10 points star Blanket. It has got so big that I have currently 40 stitches from point to valley!!! Each round takes absolute ages to do, especially the BPDC row! But the whole thing has become so...habitual that I can watch a movie (or crochet videos 😉) while I work. So enjoyable. I change colour after each ball of yarn, keeping the same value. Thank you for another brilliant tutorial! ❣️🌹🇳🇿

Hi Robin…I had asked a question about stitch count just a couple of days ago & I got that answered & figured out. Just wanted to let you know that this pattern & video of yours is the only 12-point star blanket that I have been able to successfully follow & get the right number of points to come out right. I have tried about half dozen other videos for this blanket pattern (sans ridge) & was not successful with any of them. WOW...................this Canadian gal says THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for an excellent tutorial. Your instructions are so clear as I've made a few things from your tutorials. I'm using hdc vice dc as I belong to a crochet group in western Canada in the Province of Alberta & we are crocheting for the NICUs in our Province for preemie babies that weigh from 1.3-5lb. Since there is a strict criteria from the hospital regulations hdc is much better as the stitches aren't so large plus many of us are using much smaller hooks. I'm using a #4 weight yarn & hook 3.5 & it is looking outstanding. Thanks so much. Oh btw I crocheted around a girls thick hair elastic band for the center of the blanket so I can place a small stuffed animal into it like a lovey. Since I'm horrible at making animals I purchase small ones to slip through the center hole. This way it can be removed if so desired plus it's all washable. March 10 update now on this blankie....it is all finished & turned out totally amazingly gorgeous. It measures 26x26" & I added a picot border which truly compliments the rest of the blanket. Started once again on a 2nd & 3rd & I definitely will be making many many more of these beauties......thanks so much darlin

Hi Robin…I have followed several of your tutorials & they are all great. I have a question though for the repeat rounds on this one. The video does not show what the increase stitch count will be on additional rows. For example, row 7 shows a stitch count of three prior to the small shell. Row 8 also shows a stitch count of three prior to the large shell. Row 9 shows a stitch count of 4 prior to the large shell & you indicate that there will always be an extra stitch in the row 9 round. So here’s my issue: should the stitch count for rows 10 & 11 remain at four prior to the shells & then increase to five prior to the shell for round 12 or should there be an increase in each row after row 9? The video isn’t really clear on that. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. 😃
