I am so excited to have found your video!! I was recently gifted a bunch of the loop yarn and have never worked with it before!! I tried to do the finger knitting but I'm not a fan of it mostly because I am a crocheter! Thank you so much for making and sharing this video with the world!! ❤️

Absolutely brilliant! Once again you’ve helped save time & frustration. I was like you @the loop yarn. I have quite a few skeins and they’ve been collecting dust. I made 1 project and was over it because of the slow moving pace. I had been thinking of making a rug with it, where you pull the loops through rubber shelf liner. Again a slow process so it’s been on a back burner. Now I can break it our and make up a quick project. Thanks for taking the time to do the hard part. I guess I’ll start watching for when this yarn goes on sale now - not that I need to add to my stash(horde), but it’s a yarn thing 😂 Take care, stay safe, and enjoy your vacation!

Could you show how to finish the last row? I don't see the tail you mentioned. Am I making a tail from the last row and tying it off?
@silvanaribeiro816819 күн бұрын
Beautiful pattern and very well explained. I would like to know what is the size of this finished blanket and how many skeins of what brand yarn you used. Thank you!
@DIYOnTheHouse17 күн бұрын
I already gave the blanket as a gift, but if I remember correctly, it was about 2 skeins and it made a crib size blanket. Sorry I don't have the specifics.

To finish the project, actually the second loop goes through the first, the third through the second, etc.

This is awesome but I need to add on another skein. How do I do that?
@DIYOnTheHouse Жыл бұрын
I would cut a couple of the loops to make a tail to secure back end, and slip the new loop on the hook and treat the two loops on your hook as one loop and continue as normal. Let me know how it turned out!

What size hook did you use?
@DIYOnTheHouse2 жыл бұрын
I believe this was K hook, it just needs to be big enough to grab the yarn, it doesn't effect the tightness of the project when you use loop yarn.

Do you put the skipped loops to the back or the front
@DIYOnTheHouse3 жыл бұрын
Since you pick up those loops on the next row, it doesn't matter if they are on the front or back.

I am having trouble doing this from the video. Do you have a written copy anywhere?
@DIYOnTheHouse2 жыл бұрын
Sorry - I don't. It is more of a technique than a pattern, so I couldn't figure out how to put it in print. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Counting at the end of each row will help that. I had the same problem when I was trying to figure out how to do it!

I'm having the same narrowing problem. Can you please explain your counting method?
@user-ki8tj5uy1w3 ай бұрын
@@AJ911ification It is a little tedious, you need to count same amount of loops on each row.

How do you change the yarn when you need a new skein?
@DIYOnTheHouse2 жыл бұрын
Cut a couple of loops of yarn to make a tail (so you can weave in and secure the tail later) and hold the new yarn just like it was the yarn you were previously using, and pull up the loops as you were already doing. Let me know if you have more questions!

I love this, the looping with fingers or crochet hook (knit and purl) are a bit slow, so I have pauzed working with it as well. And since I have hoarded a large stash of faux fur looping yarn, I was a bit miffed that it was such a hassle. I really contemplated just snipping all these loops to have 'normal faux yarn' so it would make it easier to work with. I am still thinking about that. And then pin Loom it or something. Getting the most value from the yarn. But I do have a question. Do the ridges form themselves when we crochet it like you showed and what if I want a sleek side? With all the different yarn techniques I am doing lately the answer doesn't come to me at the moment that's why I ask. (side note: been doing nalbinding /needlebinding, which is very slow, but meditative, and after the learning curve is really very calming and relaxing. Really great and ancient technique, used all over the world and a predecessor of crochet and knitting. Very handy to take wherever you go as you can work with short ends and only 1 needle. Warning.... It is addictive)
@DIYOnTheHouse3 жыл бұрын
I love that you feel my pain on the finger knit and purl!! If you do the same stitch with the crochet hook, you will have one smooth side and one raised side. I am starting a baby blanket with different colors this week and going to try to play around with different patterns. Can't wait!! Have fun with your project!!

What size hook are you using?
@DIYOnTheHouse9 ай бұрын
Sorry, I thought I mentioned it in the video. It doesn't matter the size hook on this project, just big enough to grab the yarn. The one I used was an 'I' hook.
@susancejka63322 жыл бұрын
What size hook did you use?
@DIYOnTheHouse2 жыл бұрын
The hook size on this yarn doesn't matter, since the loops create the tension. So you can use like a J or K so you can easily grab the bulky yarn.
