I wan to be able to shoot like you but I'm a 13 yr old 4'11 small guard my set point is really low whenever I shoot above my chin I can't generate enough power and I airball so how can higher my set point to above my chin say like eye level thanks
@Randomlego1086 жыл бұрын
Use your legs more for power, set point doesn't matter if you keep your elbow in and practice you'll get better !! Also remember keep the same form no matter how deep you shoot from
@mahri90226 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro really helped
@bigboyfloyd93816 жыл бұрын
I use to be the exact same way when I was younger. The older you get the higher your release point is usually bc you get stronger so you can get more force behind the ball. I would just do what’s comfortable and what works and as time goes on your shot will change and get better aslong as you are practicing regularly.
@AllfatherTre6 жыл бұрын
The Player the key in changing your shot is patience, I was once in your shoes so just know it’s gonna take time and eventually you’ll grow and you’ll get stronger so you won’t be shooting like way forever. But as of now to change your shot you need to focus on one aspect of it at a time starting from the bottom then make your way to the top. So start off focusing on your base, then once you get used to it and apply it to muscle memory do the same for hand positioning, set point, release point, and then your follow through. Makes sure you keep your elbow in and body lined up with the basket. Then after a couple months of shooting with your new form work on speeding it up to game speed. Then off dribble shooting, shooting off the catch, shooting off the curl, cuts, screens, etc while making sure you stay on balance and maintaining your form. Then work on extending your range little by little while maintaining good form. Start in close then gradually move backwards once you feel uncomfortable take a step or two forward and work on shooting from that distance with good form until you’re completely comfortable then step back father and repeat this should extend your range to about half court. Hopefully this helps you as much as it helped me. Now go be great, I believe in you.

Amazing video! Mind if i ask you a question about your shot? I'm curious about how you're able to shoot at the peak of your shot on your 3 pointers (the same way you shoot your midrange). Is there anything you did to be able to do that? When i try shooting like that, i arm the ball too much, and i can't really get the same lift i get off my midrange (up to like free throw range). Please give some tips!
@TristanJass6 жыл бұрын
It actually took me a while to get my 3 pt shot like that. I started off jumping high on my midranges then I worked my way to the three point line. You have to keep working at it everyday in the gym and eventually it will be easy for you to shoot like that from the 3 pt line!
@eugenekim41536 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying! Would you suggest that i try taking a step backward from where i'm comfortable, and try shooting that way? So basically I shouldn't go too far back, but rather head backwards step by step. Also, when you go upwards to shoot like that, are you on your tip toes at all times? Including off of triple threat
@TristanJass6 жыл бұрын
yeah bro. keep working your way back! yes stay on your tip toes

One thing about the crossover is when I usually do it I either hit them off but ends up hitting their foot or doesn’t work ANY TIPS!?!!??
@TristanJass6 жыл бұрын
You have to give yourself enough space to do the move so the ball wont hit your defenders foot.
@jellymv95486 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t too much space make the crossover less effective
@TristanJass6 жыл бұрын
just a little space. NOT a lot... give yourself just enough space so it won't hit your defenders foot.
@harveymacasaet12776 жыл бұрын
Defender should be an arm away so you can do it effectively. But me personally ive done it to a defender even if he was in my face and still shifted him. It really takes practice.
