He probably had rest periods between matches but you're right. Although the fact is, the only one who beat him was the one who's also an arm wrestling specialist. Most of the guys were younger and stronger than him on paper. Technique rather than strength allowed him to beat most of them with ease. He know exactly how to use and shift his own weight, distribute force... Note that most of his opponent remained up right when Allen consistently leaned on the side to beat them.

There are several armwrestlers with giant hands, german left hand guy comes to mind (mateus i think), and the american guy with sausage fingers. cyplencov was considered behemoth because he snapped nuts with his fingers. John Breznk (25 years champion), has beefy fingers. So hands/fingers/forearm/frame all play a different part. Tendon's wise, Allen got 30+ years on Larry.

One technique is hand grip placement. The more you have your grip covering over your opponents thumb, you'll have more advantage which is what Allen is doing. Subtle thing that most don't think of doing when arm wrestling.
