Same here: long time Android user who switched to iOS awhile back. Here is a tip: replace the stock iPhone keyboard with Microsoft SwiftKey. If after setting it up, the keyboard hasn't changed, restart the phone. Make sure you look though SwiftKey's options. Not only is it all around better to type on, you can turn on a number row as well as other things. It also does a much better job with predictive txt (after you've put it through some use) and it lets you cuss. No more, "That's so ducked up."

If you want this level of customization (or much more for that matter) you really need to be on Android. The amount of effort it takes to get this done on iPhone is rediculous. And in the end it doesn't even look good because the background icon moves and breaks the illusion when you unlock or switch apps.

@@AndrewClare it looks good when static. But try unlocking your phone and you'll notice the widget part of the background move as well. Same when you switch between apps. Once you see it, it can't be unseen. It's especially noticeable if you have loved ones as your wallpaper because it basically cuts through their faces and such. Not a good look in addition to being needlessly complex. Apple should just allow invisible widgets for those that want them, or better yet freedom to design your launcher as you see fit.

iPhone is good. I use one myself. However when one compares it to Android it falls terribly short. There are just so many things Android can do that make life easier. iPhone has a lot of ground to cover if it really wants to be a device that makes life easier. After all that is what a smartphone should be. Smart enough to make life smooth sailing.

To give credit to Apple. I think they do these things TO MAKE it easier and "smooth sailing". The more freedom you give the user the harder it is to control what they do and therefore harder to make it "smooth sailing". As long as you use the phone the way Apple wants you to then it's as smooth as it can be. Coming from an Android user (currently the Oneplus 7 Pro)

I find apple so easy to use, used to have android and will never go back Apple is easy to use and love playing with changing things on my iPhone.
