how to cut a flat bottom ditch with grader

Nice job for what you had to work with. Surprisingly, a lot of the younger generation have no experience with what a grader is capable of doing. If it's not a excavator or dozer- can't clean that ditch out. You show a bit of what a good operator and grader is capable of. I wish I could send ya a green horn for a week, for you to show'em road blading 10-12 hr days for 5 days. He'd soon get the basics down. Thanks again for all you do !

@@rollingcoal9500 the gps has its place I’ve used it a little bit while helping a contractor out on a job and it definitely makes a good operator that much more efficient but for the work I do I just use the crown gauge and the bubble in my butt and that’s good enough thanks for watching!

Hey buddy, good morning hope you’re having a super fantastic day like you guys we’ve been extremely dry for the last almost month now here in Colorado Springs. I’ve been using the 620 GP now for about seven months. I almost have 200 hours on it now I do enjoy running it. I’ll give a review of it here at some point this weekend all put out something but overall it hasn’t been a bad machine.

Thanks and that’s good like I said I have a fair amount of ditch clean out and back sloping to do so will have them videos coming I try and wait till we get a couple of hard freezes so the grass in the ditch dies so I can burn all the vegetation really makes it easier to work with thanks for watching!

So you take off your blade extension to do ditches and head land work

@@billjohnston4088 yes I take off my 2ft extension to do my ditch clean out and back sloping if I wasn’t cleaning out the ditches I’d leave my extension on but since I’m in the ditches it’s easier to work with a 14ft moldboard.

It hasn’t rained here since the middle of August, we started blading the bad spots dry two weeks ago to help out the farmers.

It’s been dry all over I pretty much am doing the same wanted to have roads in better shape for the farmers taking crops out hopefully we can catch a rain soon here.

Our road from ditch to ditch is 33 feet wide. I was going to put down 3/4 crusher run on top of that 1 1/2 clean limestone gravel. Would you cover all of that surface up with 3/4 crusher run?

@@bryans5339 if your driving surface is that wide I would cover the whole driving surface 33 ft is a very wide road in my opinion I don’t like my roads to be any wider the 26ft wide and the maximum I prefer 22 to 24ft wide hope this helps thanks for watching!

Well it's looking good it's too bad you can't put some hydroseed on that back in the day we just take the tar distributor and soak it you wouldn't believe the grass we would have sure did stop a lot of erosion hope you have a wonderful day 🇺🇸

that drain would catch a lot of water . the creek at the gully would be running well in wet weather . would it be just as easy to articulate and just have front wheels on back of the cutting and have blade over more . Easier to cut banks anyway
