Hey, that's a cool idea. When you use that rotary tool don't push down to the point it slows right down to almost a stop because youl burn out the stater in the motor. You could speed up this process by cutting part of the way down and then using hot followed by cold water

Excellent video! I would recommend that you wear a mask, specially if doing this indoors. That powder glass is definitely not something you want to breath in.

Please use safety wear. Wrap da cutting with cello tape. Sticky tape Wil hold da bottle together in da event of da bottle cracking . Similar to a car windscreen.

Hey sweetie ... try doing it a little different next time!!?? Try stabilizing your tool so it doesn't move ... then move the bottle by hand to the tool. Also .. if you could run the bottle on a two board rack to slide the length of the bottle in a straight line, then you could etch straight lines, no problem!

Have you tried a preliminary outline cut then tried hot/cold water vs cutting the entire glass bottle? Seems like it would work well.

I used to glass bottles, too, but even under water it totally ruined my diamond wheel cutter. A 20€ diamond wheel for 3/7 bottles (4broke) is just not worth it. I'll try that hot/cold thing and just scratch the bottle. Another trick, I saw, was a guy, that glued a bolt on a stick and tapped the cuts from the inside.

Rovelyn M. Whisler Ive tried multiple ways of cutting the glass lately. I thought I'd return the favor, and share the easiest way I've found with you. Spraying the glass with a spray bottle while you're cutting it keeps the dust down, keeps the glass, and your blade cool which prevents it from cracking. It also helps preserve your diamond bits. And, it cuts down a lot on the time it takes to cut the bottle. The blade does sling water though. The glass/water combination equates to white spots all over the place so it's best done outside away from anything that isn't easily hosed off. Hope this helps save you some time ! 😊

Soak da bottle in warm water and da labels will come out easily. Leave it to soak about 20 min.. Also u can u a heat gun to get it off immediately

I'm sure you've figured out the answer to your question by now, but for others who might come across this... glass gets hot when cutting like this & needs to be kept cool throughout the cutting process with either water or oil. Too much heat makes glass crack.

You run the water over the bottle not the tool. Have a tube running from a bucket of water, you run the tube before the cutting tool.
