Mike, I didn't know that there was an actual electrical splice kit. That had to make the job easier. My dad was an electrician and he spliced electrical connections all the time the old-fashioned way. Using double clamps on each side of the spliced water line is not overkill, it's just using good common sense. Way to go, Mike! I hope you and your wonderful family have a fantastic week. ~Margie🤗💐 PS I'm looking forward to the next house tour.

I think ive figured out why i like watching your channel. You remind me alot of my uncle living in the US especially cause you grow alot of fruit trees too like he does. He looks oddly similar to you too but asian 😂 He Built parts of his house on his own, powers his house with a prius in emergencies lol, made an ice skating rink in his side yard for my cousin to ice skate in during winter. He loves fixing things around the house and doing diy projects. He built his own drone with a camera that will fly itself back to his house way before dji drones were a thing. grandpa was an engineer so i guess its in the blood. When he comes back to malaysia to visit my grandma and us, every single day hes going around my grandmas house fixing things.

If you dip that electrical joint in rooting compound and keep the soil moist, you should have roots in about 3 months.
@FreeAmerican-mm2my

It is best to take the cutting in winter too. I am a licensed electrical root cutter and I would never root electrical cuttings like this. This does not comply with the galactic electrical root cutting code.

Nice job mike. Not to nit pick but the rubber jackets of the 3 conductors should go into the brass sleeves, if possible, or at least go up to the brass sleeve to leave as little exposed bare wire as possible. Also, cleaning the sheathing of the NM wire with something would get a better bond between the sheathing and shrink wrap glue. Would have been nice to load that electrical joint with silicone or anti-corrosive but I thought I heard you say it was only temporary so you should get 5-10 years out of that connection. Interesting your using Snap-On tools.
@MikeKincaid79
@MikeKincaid79 Жыл бұрын
I probably did a lot wrong here. It only has to last for a few more months and then this wire will be completely obsolete. It's a quick fix for a temporary problem. Once the house build is done, both ends of this wire will be disconnected and no power will run through it.

What capacity is that electrical cable? Compared to the ones we have here it looks waaaay thin to run a whole house, plus if they are buried ours have an armoured sheath round the outside. I have cut them and joined them but it's a real pain to do
@MikeKincaid79
@MikeKincaid79 Жыл бұрын
This is just the well pump house cable that's only running to a 30 amp breaker. I ran all the new house electrical cable through that gray conduit for protection. That cable is much larger and there are 3 of them braided together.
