GREAT video...... I went one step further and added a small loop of wire before I soldered the end so you can easily just hang the lights anywhere.

I followed this step by step and the only difference is I used the 5630s and I must say YOU ARE ON POINT.......I got all the stuff needed and they work GREAT.....This was mainly to put a few short strips on the inner cabin of a fishing kayak and I also followed the steps you provided for a power box........I'm digging the lights so much I'm making some for the patio... Thanks Bro......you did amazing job.....great vid

Couple tips for soldering, dip the tip of your hot solder gun into the flux, the acids will clean the tip then add a layer of solder to the tip and wipe off the tip with a wet sponge then re-tin the tip again. This makes the soldering job go much faster. Love the videos and thanks for all the hard work you do to keep us informed.

No apology necessary for the video, it looked great. Thanks for posting this, I am going to make a couple for myself. As far as the soldering job the only thing I could suggest is a heat gun rather than the open flame. Great job, thanks. Could you give me a brand name and a source for the LED strip. Thanks again.

John: is there a specific type of solder you use for connecting the wires to the light strip? John, I am using and old cigarette lighter with cord to make the connection to the light strip, instead of the alligator clips to the power box, with the accordion like wiring to the cigarette lighter unit, is there a way of knowing which wires are negative and which one is positive. Your thoughts?Thanks John. I guess when your priming the copper leads, you have to make sure the solder stays on there own side of the copper dot. Correct.

Yes use electrical solder not plumbing and I like the thinner solder for small projects

Great channel, and nice video man. I hope i don't regret going lower than the 5050...

FIREANT FISHING for the small area that your lighting up you should have no issues. I've ran the 3528s in a few boats without many problems. the few that I did have were with parts of the strands going out randomly and I think it's because of them not being as well made as the 5050 but it all comes down to how you treat them. looking forward to your next boat vid I'll have an update on the jet soon

Can you provide a link for the LED strips and banana clips?
@JDSOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
The clips are purchased locally at the hardware store
Why not just leave the existing wiring leads? If they aren't going to be moved (like mounting in a car trunk to get maximum light), it may just make sense to use the leads it comes with.
