The waist band is 2”. The wideness of the fold is determined by divided the hip circumference by 4 and adding about 6 inches extra because if the A line at the side

Then you do not need to add that extra 3 inches by the side. Just connect from the thigh straight down to the hem of the pant

If you didn’t cut the trouser properly or if the fabric is light or stretchy and you didn’t pin the sides before sewing, it might alter the shape

After sewing together the front pieces,the length of the front waist is 14 and the length of the back is 20 and my waist is cirmference is 27,how do I get to have 13.5 for both.What did you use as sewing allowance on the sides?I feel if I use 2" the from part will be affected as it only has half an inch extra. That 2” i added to the back is just to help in covering the butt properly You have access on the waistline right, once you insert an elastic band to the back it will give you your exact measurement
